Any one listen to these guys? from Japan. This is a photo from a Dublin gig I saw a few years ago and the music was so good - day-glo hardcore punk, about 100 songs in ten minutes, the weirdest cover of Kraftwerk I ever heard - it almost distracted me from the superfine singer.

The Acid Temple Mothers are great as well, the other end of the rock spectrum compared to the great Guitar Wolf, Invader Ace is such a great song. Have to check out some Melt Banana!

well Mono are more post-rock than punk.hardcore, but very good nonetheless.

Melt Banana are just crazy. They make early Deerhoof sound like Burt Bacharach.

I'm seeing Deerhoof in a couple of weeks!

And I've got Teeny Shiny, but never listened to it. Perhaps I will today.

I saw Melt Banana open for Fantomas once. They were fucking awesome, I had never heard them before that night and I was pleasantly surprised. They had this like 4 foot chick on bass who was shredding like she was Geezer Butler-I'll see'em any time they come to town.

Video of theirs at http://www.southern.com/southern/band/MELTB/18814_video.html

These are from a show in LA. If you ever hear of them playing near you, drop what you're doing and go.

The bassist is quite objectifiable too, don't think she wasn't in the band when I saw them in 2000, I would have remembered.
