1. Octopus. I went to an aquarium store and they had a fantastic salt water fish room, and in one of the tanks was an octopus the size of a man's hand. He was in a large hamster-ball inside the tank, presumably to prevent him from eating all the rest of the fish and creatures in his tank. He kept rolling the ball all around the water with his tentacles. He was incredible! The little suction cups and the way the tentacles would poke through the air-holes in the hamster ball. Also, it seemed as though he was staring right at whichever humans were standing there marvelling at him. I am now seriously considering getting a tank, but the salt water kind are ferociusly expensive and incredibly detrimental to the sea (reference Finding Nemo for evidence).
2. Beautiful girl. She waits tables at a mexican restaurant I frequent, and has the most radiant face I have ever seen. Her latin skin, her movements, and her energy, plus just overall beauty and seeming sweetness and that glittering mischievous look in her eye...I always fall in love with waitresses and overtip acordingly. <deep breath>
What amazing things did you see, hear, feel, smell, taste so far today?

I tend to do that with grocery store check out girls. There is one at Whole Foods market by my house that I have been stalking in a very calculated manner (I know, I'm a psycho), I just like to look at her like a beautiful piece of art in a museum, her beauty is absolutely stupefying. |

The hard part about the check out girls is getting in their packed line when the other lines are empty and the male clerk is calling to you "sir, I can take you over here" and you have to ignore him.
I also saw a 10 year old "little person" (a.k.a. midget or dwarf in the past) at the swimming pool get beaten over the head by his friend savagely with one of those floating pool noodle things. It was pretty funny and/or amazing.

Hey! I did it exactly 2 months ago! It isn't as funny as it sounds.

1. Thread. This one!
Okay, not really, although it has potential. I wish I could think of something to contribute. I will say that octopus sounds cool. Does that store allow photographs?
I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied. |

I tasted the most amazing chicken curry today: homemade in the Kerala style by some Indian friends of mine, it was AWEsome with a capital AWE.
How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

Yeah, salt water tanks are a pain in the ass. Everyone I ever knew that had one just had a professional come over to clean it and for general up keep and such. But if you want the really intriguing fish that's what you gotta have. |

Don't know, but I'm sure I could take one without their knowing. See what I can do next weekend about that. I wish I had some indian friends who would cook curry for me. Lucky you cheeseman. Only thing remarkable for me today was walking out of the movie theater just past high noon with my son and two nephews and having the Texas sun beat us into oblivon. Their eyes were bleary and watery and the sun literally felt like a weight on top of us. Our shadows bunched up in little clumps on the concrete of the parking lot beneath our feet. Ephing hot around these parts it is these days.
