Alright hears why I think this.A while back I read on the pixies forum that the pixies may have recorded their acoustic session in the a studio called the planet of sound. SO I went to the web site found the email for the studio and asked them if they recorded anything-got no reply but then today whoever works there was online (aol) I sent him an im and check out this conversation.

Skatealex1: hey
Skatealex1: can i ask you a question
ThePlanetofSound: sure
Skatealex1: could you tell me about the pixies session
Skatealex1: they played in your stuido right?
Skatealex1: or practiced
ThePlanetofSound: who is this?
Skatealex1: im a big pixies fan!
ThePlanetofSound: sorry
ThePlanetofSound: can't reveal what happened.
Skatealex1: thats all right
Skatealex1: thanks anyways!
ThePlanetofSound: OK

Intresting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..'Or practised'. I'm sure somebody mentioned (on Pixiesmusic.com, I think) that this may have been just a rehearsal for Newport!

Hmm. That last 'OK' is also kind of suspicious, if you look at it long enough.
Still, I hope they're at least considering it.

I think basically what happened was the Pixies rehearsed, and Frank Black recorded his cover of Repo Man for the ALR CD coming out in November.

Cool thanks Madtempest. Here's a humble question for you, do you really think the Pixies would have paid that much $$ to just rehearse in a studio?

Well I just read in the cool Frank's covering Repo Man in that neato compolation being released by ALR that it was recorded at a friend's studio. So maybe they were just rehearsing.

Actually, when Charles mentioned to us he was going to be recording Repo Man there, he did tease us by saying 'maybe some of the pixies will play on the song.' It didnt happen, instead he got Violet to sing backing vocals, which is still very very very cool!
