'Josh Homme charts the return of The Pixies In part one of our Time for Heroes series, Queens Of The Stone Age frontman and Pixies fan Josh Homme charts the return of one of the most influential bands in alternative music. The programme features the notoriously interview-shy Pixies first UK broadcast interview in 13 years, plus contributions from Nine Black Alps, the Raveonettes, the Liars, producer Gil Norton and journalist Steve Sutherland.'
due on the 1st August 2005, on Lamacq Live |

Oh, good news! Didn't see that coming! Thanks for the info!
Any programme that's got the Raveonettes on it must be good. |

Woohoo, my boys Nine Black Alps are on it too. I'm looking into starting a Pixies night at the local club that we all attend so it's good to know they will come along. I knew they were fans though.
Thanks Jo.

The Raveonettes, the Liars, Gil Norton, wooooww!, this sounds great. Now I have to find out a way of getting Radio 1, if there's any high pressure fronts over Ireland I'll be f**ked. Thanks Jo .

It actually sounds like some interview stuff that will be on the upcoming DVD. It's pretty good, a little different, a little more information. |

Simon "Nirvana, 9 Black Alps and Queens Of The Stone Age I wasn't interested - too busy @ illegal raves in fields in the late 80s and 90s."
Anyone else see what's wrong with this statement? Completely embarrassed himself there poor lad.

NME (spit!) today said that the interview will feature the band going into why they split, and indeed, what they thought about getting back together too...
ohh and the Radio 1 player - I thought you could set it to play on any player? I could be wrong, but I swear I listened to something once in iTunes... I could be wrong
oooh 6 Music are playing Arnold's 'Windsor Park', not heard that in years :)
Doog! Are you going to play one last gig at the New Cross Venue? I've moved to SW London now, but we all want one last show!! Please? And hello jop! |

hi jo, i probably picked this up wrong - but you do know that the doc is available now for listening on the web? (i have already burned a copy!) i wasn't too sure that you knew, when you talked about what NME said it will include. or maybe its a broadband issue, wasn't sure so thought i'd mention it. Thanks again for posting. |

We've not played together in any sense since a one-off local show in March.. isn't it just plain better to see the real thing?

Well that was a load of shit. Another gushing Pixies history for newbies. I'm sick of hearing the same old retrospectives now. How many times do you want to hear about "Peter, Paul and Mary......blah blah blah......Nirvana...blah blah blah" narrated to you over and over in hushed tones. I knew all that ten years ago. Who gives a fuck if the singer from the 60-90's or whoever likes the Pixies? How could that information be of any possible use to me? I wish Krist Novoselic came out and said "That quote about ripping off the Pixies, that was bullshit, we were just name dropping." just for a bit of variety. |

What use was your post, or this post? Surely not everything has to have a use.
I know what you are saying but Josh is entitled to his opinion and some people may want to hear it.

I love the fact that Josh Homme presented it he doesn't seem like a journalist to me you know not a guy I would expect to host such a thing so that was nice as were the interviews

He's got such a grim voice...I love the part where he says, "...they wrote badass songs." I laugh my ass off every time I hear that.
