Under extreme duress, I am being forced to create The Vanilla Ice Appreciation Thread --a place to share your stories, your memories, your horror.
Rob Van Winkle is now a born-again Christian but I miss the days when Suge Knight would dangle him from hotel balconies.
Talk about an unholy union - the five minutes he and Madonna were a couple:

I remember loving Vanilla Ice when I was a kid, and thinking I was really cool . Did anyone see the movie he was in? It was absolutely awful, I can't even remember the name of it.
He plays hardcore metal now dosn't he?

Fun Fact:
His album, To the Extreme was the first No. 1 album on Billboard to NOT have been released on vinyl. CD and cassette only. In America, at least.
And his movie, Cool as Ice has the great and deservedly much-quoted line, "Drop that zero and get with this hero".

The Ninja Turtles song and video was the most dignified moment of his illustrious career. |

"Ice has no need for a van, when I have my fresh bike. Sometimes I call it my 'Iron Horse'.. yeah. One time me and my Iron Horse had to stop some terrorists and save the president, but that was way back in the hood, when I was a gangsta, instead of a rhyme-layin' former gangsta like I am now."
"Yo, I've been in the sewer before. This was back in the day, on the mean streets of Miami.Me and Deshay were runnin' from the 5-0 when we ducked into a manhole. That's where I met up with the Ninja Turtles. I joined them after that. They changed my name to 'Vanillo' and they gave a white bandana to wear over my eyes. I used the power of my rhymes to fight criminals. I also had my nine, cuz I was a gangsta."
