...I had! Just have to share!
Friday night I went with my two great friends Jacqui and Kim to Kim's brother's 30th birthday bash at a Cuban restaurant in Huntington Beach, CA called Habana Cafe. Very authentic restaurant with live band and a delicious drink I've never had called a 'mojito'. Their house version was called, you guessed it, a 'Habana mojito'. It was different light rums in a huge glass with club soda, tons of mint leaves, ice, lime, and sugar. Sounds light and fluffy, but man oh man! I had three and they snuck up on me like...like...really quiet sneakers. We all got drunk and then went to Kim's brother's house and hung out with him (Scott) and his hilariously cool wife Belgie...and continued to drink. We somehow made it back to Jacqui and Kim's apartment around 3:30 am. They crashed, and I stayed up for a while drunkenly looking at porn on the computer.
The next night, the same three of us went to our friend Jeff's house. Three years ago, I would visit Jeff and his wife Jennifer once or twice a week at their house, where we would have dinner and watch a movie. Well, they have a dvd set of Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, and I always thought it would be hilarious to watch one of the more obscure one's called STATE FAIR, made in 1945. We never did, until Saturday. Jeff went all out and emailed us admission tickets to 'State Fair' (raffle-type tickets). We all brought Americana food (hot dogs, apple pie, potato salad, etc.) and when we arrived, Jeff and his wife had decked their house in red white and blue streamers. We even had '1st Place', 'Grand Prize', and 'Honorable Mention' ribbons to wear. Maybe you just had to be there, but it was a riot. We finally got around to the movie at about 11:00 pm...it was so hilariously bad, it was great! We had waited almost three years for this movie, and it did not let us down! So horrible! We laughed for 2 hours straight. I personally don't like musicals and STATE FAIR I must say has got to be pretty much bottom of the barrel fare (heh). It was wonderful. Anyhow, just wanted to share my weekend. Most people probably didn't even get this far into my post, but those of you who have, rent the damn movie...not the 1962 remake. You will die laughing, it's soooo dated and absurd...and it gets such great reviews online and in movie books...the songs are inane, meandering, and downright weird! Okay...I've said enough.

Sounds like a blast! For all-out unintentional chuckles, you can't beat The Swarm. Fuck.

Mojitos are pretty darn good. They make a frozen mojito at Cuba Libre here in Dallas which is tasty. A real mojito with the crushed ice and mint has a little more panache though. That does sound like a great weekend. I like musicals. At least going to the real thing. Got dragged to a lot when I was a kid, and always fell in love with the beautiful lead female singers.

Oh, and drunken internet porn is always a good thing, especially at your girlfriends' place!

mojitos are yummy.

i think it's the mint and sugar cane that make them so special.

The mojito is probably the best alcoholic beverage I've ever had. Not that I've had that many, but still.

And yeah, State Fair was a pretty bad movie/musical. My dad and sister went through a period where they watched a bunch of Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, and they're pretty cheesy in general.

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.
