but I started clipping coupons recently... and i got a book that has info like buy one dinner get one free...

it's been really nice and we've saved a lot of money for cool stuff!

we've actually had lots of fun going to places we normally wouldn't have.

Saving money is always fun. On the other hand, NEEDING to save money isn't.

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

i do too... but the hubby gently told me that even though its winter and no one else can see, if i could please shave the legs and pits and what not... that would be much more attractive.

being able to braid pit hair is not a good thing in most people's minds i guess.

another cool thing is those discount stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx....

Buy a house, thats kind of saving money in an expensive way.

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

My ex and I had one of those passbooks for coupons to restaurants, and since we live in like the highest number of restaurants per capita city there is, it came in handy. Most were buy one entree get one free of equal or lesser value. After a while, however, I got a little paranoid about the time that you actually had to give the coupon to the server (before they gave you the bill) and somehow I hated giving them the coupon because they were probably like "here is another one of those cheap-ass passbook assholes." I still tipped on the amount of the bill before the discount, so they really didn't have anything to worry about, but it was still a little weird. Now, it won't really fly since I am dating and all. But when I eventually remarry or something maybe I will consider trying them again.
OK, all in all I would say that was not so fun.

I don't ever see that blue stripe beer anymore. All good things must come to an end I suppose.

These supermarket-sized 99 Cents Only chain of stores that are starting to pop up in my part of the country are great. They're a trip to browse because they have a 99 cent version of almost everything you can find in a grocery store. I will NEVER use the 99 cent condoms (which they do have), but for toiletries and cleaning supplies (window cleaner, kitchen/bathroom surface cleaners, bleach, sponges), I rarely shop anywhere else.

I am also a devotee of Big Lots and I check out nearly any thrift store or Goodwill that I happen to drive past.

I think bargain-hunting is an art. It requires cleverness, creativity, and curiosity.
