For the real amateurs, this masterpiece by Alexandro Jodorowsky. Please watch this film, it is unlike anything you watched before... Especially you, Americans!
Saw that again a while ago, really off the wall and quite engaging. |

I hated it. Even the semi-porn scenes.

Haha yeah I just put it down to see what his reaction would be after seeing it. It's a film that will shock if you know nothing about it.
Can we just delete our last posts Xavier and tell him that it's a nice family movie about hedgehogs?

Haha I was gonna add that I hope he doesn't know French. Doesn't it also translate as kiss me?

Aaah I see. Before they used the word fuck eh?
By the way, none of you Frenchmen ever did tell me why one of the girls in it killed herself. Did she not leave a note or a clue as to why?

No I meant in real life. Apparantly the one who used to be a porn star (actually I think they may have both been porn stars) killed herself.

It was stupid, like an adaptation of "Thelma and Louise" that Tarantino would have made in film school. Wasn't even worth the sex scenes.
Is it even a cult film?
Homers, you are right -- the woman who played Nadine (the taller of the two) was a porn star who ODed on pills earlier this year.

You can't knock Enter the Dragon. I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid and almost started worhipping the late great Lee Xiao Long (thats Bruce Lee). I even went to a Bruce Lee convention in Birmingham so that I could meet Jim "Mr Williams" Kelly. I got to shake his hand and he told me 'Man, you come right out of a comic book." He even said stuff like "Bullshit" in his trademark way... it was well cool.
This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate! |

If you mean the John Leguizamo movie then you must be trippin. I mean if you love bad acting then it's a must see! I suppose that right there makes it entertaining in it's own right though. How about
TRUE STORIES (someone said it but I'm just re-affirming STRANGER THAN PARADISE (i don't like many J.J. films but this is a goodie) EATING RAOUL DO THE RIGHT THING

great films listed here. i agree with Joey Joe Jo about ZOOLANDER. i don't know about the funniest film in 20 years, but it's completely underrated
a recent obscure one (check it out):
THE AMERICAN ASTRONAUT

i saw it at the Egyptian last year which was a treat. the director was there for a Q&A afterwards (with translator).. seemed like a cool guy
i actually wan't completely crazy about the film but it had some amazing things going on visually. the guy is clearly trying to make poetry and not "movies" |

I watched this, Gohatto(Taboo, in English) last night on tv, a really beautiful samurai film with a surprizing twist(s). Plus it had Beat Takeshi in it, so it's worth watching.
Fireworks has to be added to this list as well, really amazing, beautiful film. Kikujiro is also great and very touching.

Also want to ditto evil dead and dark star.

what a brilliant list. bad boy bubby is a must see, as are the 2 peter jackson ones. and evil dead goes without saying. the whole 'cat n' gladwrap' scene still disturbs me now, even tho i haven't seen the movie in several years...
