in response to the numerous suggestions of what to do with bossanova,i would like to tell my story. i got bossanova as a birthday present shortly after it was released. it was my first exposure to the pixies. i think that i am a better person today, having listened to this album growing up. since this album had such a profound impact on my life, i have been playing this album, ON REPEAT 24/7 for my daughter. we will see what becomes of her....

BOSSANOVA is an exquisite follow up to the legendary Doolittle, and deserves the utmost respect.

thank you,
jeff

I love Bossanova, it was the album that got me into Pixies so in all its probably my favorite album of the 4. Its almost the perfect album imo.

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

I like Bossanova but all things considered its prolly my least favourite Pixies album. Its not that I think its bad, because I think its astonishingly good. Its just it feels like it lacks the punch that Doolittle, S-Rosa and Trompe have. Therse still some damn damn good songs though. Allison, Rock Music, Blown Away. All classic, classic Pixies tracks but overall, I dunno, It just strikes me as rather tame.

I listened to Doolittle from start to finish for the first time in years a couple days ago. I was struck all over again by how utterly brilliant the record is. It's a veritable orgasm of punk-pop-indie-alt-rock goodness just chock-a-block full of wigged out creativity. There isn't a song on the CD that isn't at least interesting and theres only one or two that I wouldn't gladly put on a mix CD for the car. You can't say that about very many CD's. It is, afaic, the best record of the past 20 years. I like all the Pixies stuff a ton, but I don't think any of them quite hit the heady heights of Doolittle.
