Hello All,
Sorry to solicit such money making things here, but I wasn't sure where else to put this.
I own a very hard-to-find Fender Contemporary Telecaster (identical to Sir Black Francis' Contemporary Telecaster used when in the Pixies) and have decided to sell it since I don't play it anymore (and to be honest, I only really bought it for the Pixies relation). The only people who I've ever known to play this type of Tele are Frank Black and Doog, so I guess I've been in good company!
It looks like this:

But it's a silvery-greeny colour. I've never known this type of Tele to be this colour (only known colours have been white, red and black), and I know it's the factory colour, so it's definitely not a refinish. I'll get a picture as soon as I can.
The condition is fantastic for it's age (made around 1984-85, Japan). It has one particular 'ding', but other than that it is immaculate. Hardly any noticable fretware. Straight neck. Has a Floyd Rose locking system. Tremolo bar included. Original Fender Manual also included. Also has a gig-bag.
I'm looking for around £300, but I'll probably put it on ebay tomorrow evening unless I hear from anyone by then.
If you're interested, please email me via my profile.

aww man, if this was like a year or so ago..! i tried to get one on ebay for about a period of a month or something, but the only ones that came up were in america, and with p&p and tax it was a bit too much. then a bit later i came in to some money and bought a japanese telecaster (sort of in line with the mexican/standards, although i've heard people say the japanese ones are better) for about £335.
Oh let it linger |

Thanks for making me regret buying my Telecaster. I should have waited until this poped up. Well, best of luck anyway... |

For anyone interested in the guitar, it's the early Pixies sound all over. It's like "Hey" in a can.

Heh, I remember that thread. The exchange rate is very good for buying things from America at the moment. I remember when I bought my first guitar from the USA the exchange rate was about £1=$1.40. Now it's something close to £1=$1.80.
I've just had a fiddle with the Tele and I knew I shouldn't have- I had a brief moment of not wanting to sell it.... It must go, though. I don't play it enough to warrant keeping it, plus I'm going to Paris soon and a little extra money wouldn't go amiss....!
theFILLshow- Contemporary Tele's pop up every couple of months on the US Ebay. I'm sure if you kept your eye out you'd find a fairly good one. A lot of people don't seem to know what the 'Contemporary' Tele is, and list it as just a normal Tele, so you have to be extra thorough sometimes.

I can't remember, to be honest. I'm assuming around £300, but it might've been a touch less.

floop, your mod bent ego trips are threatening to ruin this forum. Instead of acting like a hallway monitor, try backing off a bit and let the users of this site sort things out for themselves. |
