"In an interview with the New York Times, Marc Geiger from the Pixies’ longtime booking agents the William Morris Agency, explained that the band will hopefully commence recording the new record early in 2005."
Um, I'm afraid this is old news. I believe the Tom Waits thing sprang from Frank saying something like "If I made a new Pixies album I'd love for it to be produced by someone like Tom Waits", NOT "We are going to record a new Pixies album produced by Tom Waits."
And it's been said here that the hypothetical new Pixies album will probably not come anywhere near being recorded before the end of the year.
Maybe it would help if the various tidbits shared here and there on that hot subject were put up on the news page here? You really have to read a lot of un-related topics (mostly the Honeycomb ones) to have the latest word on this...
Then again, I've heard that there is a Pixies site with a forum of its own, hopefully they've got fresher info there?
I jumped on the Frank Black Bandwagon/'Cause Pixies are so 2004
ok this is as cool as the Pixies getting back together!
Tom W producing... I always thought this would be cool but just thought it was another rumor!
"In an interview with the New York Times, Marc Geiger from the Pixies’ longtime booking agents the William Morris Agency, explained that the band will hopefully commence recording the new record early in 2005." This quote really makes it seem credible.
So if they begin recording in early 2005... is there a rule of thumb when it will hit the record stores? Like for example... from the time the Pixies started recording TLM.. how long did it take to be released?? A year??
