From a press release for general awareness on the 18th July. They're playing Ally Pally! That's spitting distance from my house!

PIXIES ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN TOUR DATES

Pixies have just a handful of U.S. tour dates left before they head to
Europe for two weeks worth of concerts. Before they cross the pond, Pixies
will headline the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago this Saturday, July 23,
and then headline the San Diego Street Scene on Saturday, July 30. On
August 6, the band will play its first-ever all-acoustic set at the Newport
Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island. As Pixies' front man Frank Black
said, "I hope that Pete Seeger doesn't go after the power supply with an
axe, for us going acoustic."

Remaining U.S. Dates, and the confirmed European Pixies tour follows:

JULY
23 Lollapalooza, Chicago, IL
30 Street Scene, San Diego, CA

AUGUST
6 Newport Folk Festival, Newport, Rhode Island
17 Paredes De Coura Festival, Paredes De Coura, Portugal
19 Pukkelpop, Hasselt, Belgium
20 Lowlands Festival, Biddinghuizen, Holland
21 Highfield Stadium, Erfurt, Germany
23 Lansdowne Road Stadium, Dublin, Ireland
25 Rock En Seine, Paris, France
26 Carling Weekender, Reading, England
27 Carling Weekender, Leeds, England
28 T on the Fringe, Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland
30 Manchester Apollo, Manchester, England
31 Alexandra Palace, London, England

Yay for the band, yay for the European fans, boo hoo hoo for those of us in the States who can't keep seeing them all summer long.

Great news, Simon, thanks.

Yeah, I'm delighted that we're getting some more shows.

It's probably too much to hope that there'll be a presale or suchlike? Just wait for the NME to pick up on the story and the tix will be finding their way to ebay *sigh*

Ticket getting is always a nightmare, I had to go through ebay for last years, and it cost a small fortune.

Where online are the tickets normally sold?

I missed the uk shows last year as I was away, I'd hate to miss them again as I've yet to see FB playing the Pixies.

If I can get tickets...
Both!
Either!

I'm not that fussy!

If I make manchester fbc I believe you owe me a drink....

I hate the stressing over tickets stage of things, I get twitchy when I think about e bay last year (」270 for three tickets...)

not positive, but i think its about 3000 all standing (maybe more), could be wrong though. i wish they would book somewhere like earls court so everyone could see them and not have to scramble for tickets, surely they could fill a venue of that size? i was gutted last year when all the brixton shows and the forum show went so quickly.

hmm earls court is a bit big but i hear what yr saying - the outlets that handled the tickets last year were Stargreen & Ticketweb for Brixton & Forum as was able to pick up tickets for all the shows in London last year - might have to take a morning off work when they go off sale - on sale rather

(Thursday July 21, 2005 05:18 PM)

Pixies have confirmed details of a lengthy European tour, culminating in a show in London at the end of August.

The band, who reformed to considerable acclaim last year, recently announced plans to record their first album since 1991's "Trompe Le Monde".

Already confirmed to headline the Carling Weekend Reading and Leeds across the August back holiday, the group begin the tour in Portugal on August 17.

Speaking about plans for the new LP, Frank Black commented earlier this week: "It's all hugs and kisses, I'm pleased to report.

"We have been discussing recording a new album lately. As happy as we are with the success of the reunion tour, we really want to make a record for the right reasons, whether it is successful commercially or not."

The tour calls at:

August 2005

17 Paredes De Coura Festival
19 Hasselt Pukkelpop
20 Biddinghuizen Lowlands Festival
21 Erfurt Highfield Stadium
23 Dublin Lansdowne Road Stadium
25 Paris Rock En Seine
26 The Carling Weekend: Reading Festival
27 The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival
28 Edinburgh Meadowbank Stadium
30 Manchester Apollo
31 London Alexandra Palace
