uhm, where is this all going ? i think everbyody, including dave n., floop, MCA, okay, just everbody, should step back an reconsider what is going on. and should consider that pride or ego isn't an answer.
obviously things are not very funny any more.
this site/forum is a special thing, as many people say here. from my observation, people here are ways more nice, brighter, more considerate than elsewhere on the www. perhaps it is because FB's music attracts such people, but it doesn't matter why. people meet here, have a good time, help each other, learn from each other, overall in a very polite and kind way. what i'm trying to say is that it would be extremely sad if this spirit would be lost, especially if there is no real reason. and posting pics of nude ladies isn't a real reason. thank god, people are not perfect (and what does perfection mean, btw) nor clones of each other. furthermore, removing a thread with pics of nude ladies is also no reason to get upset. it is gone - okay, no problem. there are more important things.
but i can't help thinking that dave n. is awfully wrong with his latests decisions. respect to his work, he can do whatever he want, but he should consider that in the meantime this site is more than his personal playground (reasons as stated above). that's the way social behaviour works - it just develops, and this has happened here. dave n. may founded it all, but he has no moral right to destroy this community, what he is actually doing now (killing threads, deleting users, forbiding posting pictures - what will be next ? this is just destruction).
so, what can we do ? as i said, everybody should bare in mind what this site means. taking yourself or your opinios too important won't help, consider this in your actions and postings. FB & kim deal took 12 years to bury their hatchets, roger waters & dave gilmoure more than 20 years. and they acknowldeged, it was all about clashing egos. i hope it won't take that long here to come to this conclusion. it would be extremely sad to say, in some years, "yeah, FB.net was very cool, but suddenly it was gone, i don't really remember why, people just spat at each other"

Don't stress about it starmekitten. I think we're all in agreement about what we'd like (restoring forum harmony), we're all in agreement that we need to discuss what happened, why it happened and how to move forward.

The only way to 'save' the forum is to resolve the issue at hand and move on from it. All the new threads to discuss this descend into insult and anger, even ordinary threads are getting taken over by this. Even, the king holds court, where it is most innapropriate has had this "battle" bought to it. Dave needs to hang around and present his case as a reasonable adult to other reasonable adults. His attitude won't change if the attitudes on forum don't. I get we're all annoyed. The issue isn't about shots of women, Dave needs to see past this, it's more to do with how the situation has been handled and his unjust imposition of moral values onto people who didn't need it in the first place. To make this seen though it needs to be pointed out. This bad child punishment routine is exceptionally patronising, but unless we take the time and thought to show why we don't need this it is making his case for him. Some of us were trying to make new unrelated threads to move past this problem, to turn it into a humourus situation even that we'd speak of in months to come. By hovering at the scene of the accident it's stopping any fixing that could happen.
It's a great forum, and it's a great shame. |

This place used to be cool. Now it's rather lame. I have faith that it's greatness can be restored, but it's gonna take some work.
You know, the thing is, by the standards of most message boards, this place doesn't have any assholes or abusers. We are too sheltered in our fb.net world here. Try going to some other forums where there are gigantic dickfaces everywhere posting tons of fucked up pics and just talking mad shit. We're a bunch of pussies here. I like it that way. So please, don't start putting limitations on us in our pussy-ass world.
