It totally occurred to me yesterday that I totally overuse a certain expression.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics

In the last post I made, I think I said 'issues' far too many times.

I say "hey" way too much. I'm Canadian and trying not to say eh perhaps... I say "I'll tell you what" like a southerner way too much. I also say "no joke" and "no word of a lie" lots.

I say "whatever" and "by the way" way too much. And I possibly swear too much but I fucking like to swear.
PS. Nice signature, Kathryn!!!

i have a bad habit of saying annoying expressions to bug people and having them become a permanent part of my vocabulary.
i say "a'ight" all the time now, and think i let one slip to my boss the other day |

'Anyway' and 'by the way' are my favorite English expressions, as you probably noticed.
In French I clearly tend to overuse 'en fait' (in fact) and 'par contre' (on the other hand).

I use qualifiers way too much. "Really," "basically," "kind of," "sort of," "apparently," and stuff like that.
I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied. |

"What part of 'no' don't you understand?" I like this expression so much that I translated it into French to use it in my everyday life. Unfortunately I'm too polite, or too shy, to use it as often as I'd like.

My english vocabulary is so limited that I have to overuse a lot of expressions, by lack of better ones. I use "actually" a lot. And I'm not even sure it means what I think. Lately I've been using "Gee" a lot. Is it OK to use it? Isn't it outdated?

Names of diseases are very popular in my country, especially the Dutch equivalents of cancer and tuberculosis. I never use the word cancer, I hate it when someone does, but tuberculosis all the time
The dutch slang word for tuberculosis is "tering" pronounded as tea-ring ("tea" like pronounced in "teardrop")
I'm tall, I'm Dutch, and Kathryn is still married to her wine connaisseur |
