in reference to this on the main page.
who is it?
i remember when i heard bone machine first and i thought frank was iggy but wearing kurt cobain clothes and with short white hair and with a smoke and all skinny and sick.
and then i saw the site later in life and i thought, wow yeah thats kinda right, kinda. but i mean...is that the doc from back to the future or what?
AND is this there because it's funny that everyone else also thought frank looked more crazy and sick? |

That is Lance Henriksen starring as "Frank Black" in the TV series "Millennium", created by Chris "X-Files" Carter.
As far as I know "this" Frank Black was named after "that" Frank Black - apparently Carter is a fan. Remember "Man On Steel" on the "Songs in the Key of X" comp.
I might be wrong though. But the truth has to be out there.

Chris Carter: "Well, Frank Black was the name of the lead singer of The Pixies, which I was a big fan of."

Wrong that he was a big fan of the Pixies, or that Frank Black was the name of their lead singer? (I guess he was technically Black Francis at that point, but that wouldn't make for a very realistic character name.)
I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied. |

Yeah, just the name. but it was a knee jerk post, no real need for the caps it did leave me wondering is this guy a fan of the Pixies or Frank Black. either way, it's never a bad thing. it hasn't got me into much trouble.
i've haven't actually seen any episodes of 'millenium', is it good?

From an FB interview a few years back:"Chris Carter has been very complimentary to me." It's funny, Dave Grohl had a cameo on the X-Files(and did a song for the movie soundtrack, for which there's a video), but FB never made an apperance. I wonder if Carter ever asked him to appear on the show, and I wonder if he'd turn it down because he got sick of being the 'UFO guy'! |
