i rediscovered this song...

i always thought it was the most unspectacular on COR, but recently it fitted perfectly to certain events in my life. now i think it is a killer song - an unusual, but still very decent chord sequence, unspectacular lyrics (but which i can now relate so much too). and the bridge is so cool, lyrically & musically ("what comes around...").
anybody feels similiar about this one ?

praise the COR !

not one of the songs off CoR i listen to alot, but i do like.
the drums and intro riff is so good, and the drumming throughout is so fine.
love the solo near the end and my favourite part is the very last second of the song
that cool sound which leads us into a song that i do listen to alot...

In conclusion. I love The Creature Crawling because The Adventure and Resolution comes next

One of my favorite tracks on COR. A little underproduced I think.

Obviously COR as a whole is weak compared to TOTY, but after all many rock albums sound weak compared to TOTY.

why should one compare them ? COR is COR and TOTY is TOTY. maybe, if i would have to choose to select one to go to an island, i would take TOTY because it is richer and more diverse and has just more songs. but as with any FB-album, COR is a nation on its own. i think that is one of the reasons why we all like FB so much. he just doesn't fit into a scheme. he gives us new impressions all the time & doesn't care about whether it will be appreciated. i think that is a very fine approach to art or whatever one wants to call his music.

I think it's normal and almost inevitable to compare COR to its monumental predecessor - especially if you bought them when (or in the order) they came out, as I did.

Strange, been singing this song in my head for the last while now, I really like it, always thought it was one of the stronger songs from COR. Tried looking up some sort of explanation of the song in the DB but there's none. Any ideas what it's about? I was thinking something to do with pollution or some other sort of insidious force? I also looked up The Last Stand of Shazeb Andleed, I didn't realize it was about such a horrilbe event. I'll never be able to listen to it the same way again.

I just thought it was about creepy crawlies, and how they're existance is as valid any other living creature....and the fact that some of those varmints would survive a world wide cataclysm, like a nuclear war, but we probably would'nt!

Thats a pretty good point, but the "Don't know if creature is dead or alive" line, gave me the impression it was something that only seemed as though it was alive but actually wasn't? Not an an actual literal creature? "What goes around it comes around, One fine day, Look around, There will be nothing but you." That what we do to the earth will eventually catch up with us, and we'll have killed off everything, with us only remaining. Ha ha, I'm going out on a limb on this, probably not what it's about at all.

The song oracle needs to create 13 consecutive posts for the 13 songs on COR.

Speaking of chord progressions,
I believe the tab is wrong:
http://www.frankblack.net/tabs/song.asp?song=tcor-thecreaturecrawling

The first chord, instead of a D#7, should be written as E dim7. I'm speaking of the chord outlined by all the instruments.

What do you think Carl?

i like to consider the song to be about the inevitable, whatever it is. may call it fate. whatever is bound to happen, will happen, and there is nothing you can do about it. "what you gonna say ? what you gonna do ? What goes around it comes around"
and "one fine day, there will be nothing but you" - i like to see this one as that we finally will accept our fate, our destination. maybe all ways too philosophical, but i'm in the mood right now.
