If someone needs to be dropped, I'll bow out. I already dread
Homers' criticism of my mix.

I'm disappointed, frankly.

You're out, but Shineofthenever is in.

Seriously, though, I don't know.

I want to be in...I want to be in...I want to be in...BUT...I said I would bow out earlier, and that leaves you with 12 if I do. In case I solve the snail mail cost issue with some magical solution, I will let you guys know, but otherwise continue without me and I will join the next one.

danjersey--right...no tapes. only CDs. (possibly reel-to-reel if you can generate that interest).

so....we're set, yes?

We'll put a liberal date on this thing....how about we decide on our mixes and post them so they all reach their destination by the end of July...that should help with schedules and all. Too long to wait?

If you're interested in exchanging via mp3 format, we can start that too...I'll look around my ftp sites to see how much space I've at the moment...if you have any spare room on your own ftp server, think about offering that or at least putting your mix up there (with downloadable artwork, of course!). If you really want to do mp3, it will likely be a split down the middle of us users--1/2 or so want the CD, 1/2 want just the tunes (and artwork) and don't mind downloading the tunes and burning them. That should help alleviate the cost a lil' bit.

thoughts? suggestions? let's see if we can firm this up in the next week...

cheers!

All sounding good to me - I'll probably stick with cd & snail mail - though the ftp thing is genius and honestly don't mind mailing to those that upload

Being a CD-swap virgin, I don't know how big this should be. I mean, how long. I mean how many songs, how many minutes.

Thank you.

80 minutes will be enough.

And now I will take the risk of sounding like an asshole: I won't be sending my mix to anyone who will host his/her in a FTP server. If you can't take the little time to burn and send it and the almost ridiculous amount of money that it costs, I won't bother sending mine to you.

kathryn, my past mixes have both included mould/hart/barbe songs. i put stop your crying, books about ufo's and where diamonds are halos on the first mix and included a live version of gee angel for the third swap.
