I checked a million threads on sex, a million, fuck it I want romance, show me it's not dead and feed my romantic soul because it's hungry and pretty convinced it's never going to get a meal again.
Show me romance. |

Just seeing the R word brought tears to my eyes. I hope I remember these lyrics correctly.
If I saw you now Could I look in your eyes?
Do you think of me Like I dream of you?
Do you wish you were here Like I wish I was with you?
You’ve loved me before Do you love me now?
Does love ever end When two hearts have torn away? Or does it go on And beat strong anyway? You’ve loved me before Do you love me now?
Come back to me right now! C’mon c’mon come back to me right now!
You’ve loved me before Do you love me now?

Nothing to do with single or not single. Relationships can be total dead seas of romantic nothingness. You got any romance to sell here? no?

i had a dream that i met this 16 year old girl at a party and i instantly fell in love with her. i got her number... it looked like a dodgy number and later i found out she worked for an escort angency and that was a number to request her services... i was really gutted because i thought she really liked me and i really liked her, but she only saw me as a client. that was like days ago this dream, can't believe i still remember it. and it's totally bizarre and not related to anything i can think of in my real life.
this is the closest i've been to romance... a dream, about a whore. i rock.
i still think about her. this isn't even a joke, i was actually really saddened when i woke up and realised she wasn't real. the situation was bad enough.
Oh let it linger |

I was just kidding.
All my romantic tendencies are property of my wife. Which leaves me nothing to offer you.
I believe floop is the man you're looking for. |

No offence to floop, but I really don't think he is.
Best I have to offer the thread right now.
Gorecki - Lamb
If I should die this very moment I wouldn't fear For I've never known completeness Like being here Wrapped in the warmth of you Loving every breath of you Still in my heart this moment Or it might burst Could we stay right here Until the end of time until the earth stops turning Wanna love you until the seas run dry I've found the one I've waited for
All this time I've loved you And never known your face All this time I've missed you And searched this human race Here is true peace Here my heart knows calm Safe in your soul Bathed in your sighs Wanna stay right here Until the end of time 'til the earth stops turning Gonna love you until the seas run dry I've found the one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
All I've known All I've done All I've felt was leading to this All I've known All I've done All I've felt was leading to this Wanna stay right here 'til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry I've found the one I've waited for The one I've waited for The one I've waited for
Wanna stay right here 'til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry I've found the one I've waited for The one I've waited for The one I've waited for |

i love romance too... especially songs about it... ok that's it I am a closet freak. but I only like really overly sappy songs like by the cure or something. I also admit i do like that one bright eyes song... about the one nightstand... it's so sappy but i love those songs about unrequited love. ok i said it.
my favorite love song now is violet, because it's real and not fake and sappy... it's so beautiful. |

Unrequited love never ever ever ever ever fucking heals. Years later it remains a daily ache. The best you can do is hope against hope and go on.

a woman is diagnosed with cancer, she's told that there is a slim chance treatment could prolong her life but she would never be the same. her man is optimistic and desperate, he spends every moment he can careing for her and encouraging her to try the treatment. proud and determend to live out her life as she sees it, the woman refuses the treatment and instead of focusing on when she will die, plans a great trip. the man and woman are both avid sailors and together own a small but seaworthy craft. the idea is to live life as it comes and to not look back. scared yet commited, the man agrees and soon the two are out to sea. being best friends the close quarters and at times stormy conditions are not a problem, they work together and find joy in the simple tasks and down time of the day. at night the woman writes, not so much a memior just thoughts, many intended for her man to read after she is gone. the man on the other hand is not wrighting, who would he write to anyway? she is dying and he can do nothing but steer the ship. at dawn the sea is calm and the sky clear. over coffee the spirit of the woman is high and the wind is carrying the sail at top speed. on deck the man calls out to the woman, she quickly emerges from below, her hair blowing and the sun shining she waves at him and smiles. "he's gonna fall.... why is he?" "i love you" he says, she can't hear it but she knows, and as he lets himself go she goes with him, and the sailboat gets smaller til it's gone.

I don't think I even know what it is anymore.
Isn't it all relative though? What's romantic to one person is cheesy hell to another. |

People shouldn't laugh at someone elses romance just because they don't like it. I think people like that don't know romance full stop.

Not far from my place there's a wall on which an amateur philosopher has painted in red, large letters 'LA ROMANCE FINIT LA OU L'AMOUR COMMENCE' (Romance ends where love begins)
When will Frank find Lyle, Nick and Eric Drew again? |

Oh, Frog, I don't believe that at all. It's the opposite, actually: love starts where romance starts. And unrequited love starts when romance is laughed at.

Laughing when you try to be romantic = not being into you.
Maybe this should be in the "Take everything literally" thread?

You said unrequited love...love is a strong word, maybe that's why I took it literally. You can't truly love someone you don't know.
So if I walk up to a beautiful woman at a bar and make a very romantic pass at her only to be shot down and laughed at that's just me getting shot down....not unrequited love. |

Roberta Flack sings this. Romance was alive as little as eight years ago, ever ever ever ever is...
Written history has not been democratic, education privileged, the resources for sentiment scarce. There are a few hundred years of noble romantics and just a few decades of mass literacy. And then came the phone. I wonder if literacy became less threatening to the elite then? This medium is certain to go visual so it's unfortunate that we can't take advantage of what may be the last chance for a golden age of text. I was watching an interview from the early 1960's of the type most familiar to the BBC or PBS, this was a serious discussion and the lexicon was necessarily elevated. I thought, I'm having trouble following them because I do not have their language skills, why have I been left out of this conversation? The command of language for clarity is vital, and the precision of words romantic.
Do what you gotta do
Man I can understand how it might be Kinda hard to love a girl like me I don't blame you much for wanting to be free I just wanted you to know I've loved you better than your own kin did From the very start it's my own fault What happens to my heart You see I've always known you'd go
So you just do what you gotta do My wild sweet love Though it may mean that I'll never kiss Those sweet lips again Pay that no mind Find that dappled dream of yours Come on back and see me when you can
Now I know it'll make you feel sad And make you feel so bad They say you don't treat me like you should They got ways to make you feel no good I guess they got no way to know I've had my eyes wide open from the start And man you never lied to me The part of you that they'll never see Is the part you've shown me
So you just do what you gotta do My wild sweet love Though it may mean that I'll never kiss Those sweet lips again Pay that no mind Find that dappled dream of yours Come on back and see me when you can

and i didn't write this, but you know who did. a lady needs a flower ever so often.
I took a picture that I’ll have to send People here are friendly and content People here are colorful and bright The flowers often bloom at night
Amanita is the name The flowers cover everything The flowers cover everything
There’s something here I find hard to ignore There’s something that I’ve never seen before Amanita is the name they cover over everything
The flowers cover everything They cover over everything (Amanita is the name) The flowers cover everything
Don’t look into the sun Don’t look into the sun
There’s something that I’ve never seen before The flowers often bloom at night Amanita is the name they cover over everything.

Can I start a parallel thread now?
I've noticed there's a huge lack of romantic feelings in girls nowadays. Maybe it's just happening here, but girls don't give a shit about flowers, poems, and all that stuff. I mean, girls aren't what old novelists told us.

Dude is hurting. Women are a riddle. If we ever figure them out, I think the universe will collapse, and the whole thing will start again.
