i've listened to it about 5 times now, it definitely grows.

I'm not a big fan, but I liked Speed Of Sound - had an excellent melody there.
Definite 'New U2' makings, I think.

speed of sound has quite a good melody but a lot of other songs suffer from a bit of "rambling" and don't such a defined melody... sounds a bit like he was just messing around making his voice go higher and lower when he felt like it. but, after a while, i guess i am beginning to "get it"

check em out in order; parachutes, rush of blood to the head, x&y. imo, the first was the best.

I've been hearing lots of X&Y all week at work. Some of the songs are sounding a bit like U2, especially the third track. I've grown a bit tired of the band through overexposure of Rush Of Blood. Don't know if I'll buy X&Y, my guess is I'll be hearing most of it everywhere I go over the next few months.
Parachutes is also my favorite. I really like Yellow.

'Yellow' is an excellent song. A 'The Scientist' is.
I don't like U2 but I quite like Coldplay, so they should sound different. Or maybe it's all based in my hatred against Bono.
Anyway, there are no chances for me to be buying 'X&Y', my workmate will make me hear it a thousand times in the next weeks.

i have cold plays first album.
i think they are great artists and very talented... but never got into them much.
[edit: I am going to try to be more open minded about them. I am not very open minded about mainstream rock and roll bands. Can hang out with my friend and check out their new ablum.]

Spot on there Offerw. I have a horrible feeling it's going to be one of those inescapable albums, so there is no need whatsoever for me to buy it (helped along by the fact that Chris Martin annoys the hell out of me for no real reason at all). |

Oh there are few things I love more than the perfect word in the perfect place -- in this case the adjective "iinescapable." This is why I have ceased buying music by U2.
Plus, yeah, Chris Martin. So not cute. I don't get GP's fascination with him.

Did you know, if you play Speed of Sound and Clocks together, at the same time, it makes a new song? i think it's a bonus track |

I am listening to it right now. It's very good. I am not sure if it's as good as the last album yet but it's definitely a very good album. I think Fix You and Swallowed In The Sea are my favourites.

If you didn't like the last album though you wouldn't like this one. The fact that you were not sure whether to burn or not suggests that you either haven't heard any of their stuff (which I doubt even of you Kiki) or you are indifferent towards it.
