Anyone else just LOVING these earthquakes here in California? They are so exhilirating! I wish they'd get a little bigger, though...and roll on a bit longer than they are. I hope the weather becomes more extreme so we get a good shimmy shimmy shake!

I also enjoy it.

No kidding, I'm hoping for a quake big enough to drive down real estate prices in my area and also slow the influx of people into our overpopulated region.

Earthquakes are one major reason I would never want to live in California, but by no means the only one.

Yeah, my other reason is Floop.

You run all kinds of red lights except the ones on the street.
When you run out of exits you can always count sheep.

Also, Frank no longer lives there. Nor was he born there. Not even close.

I was at home and thought the washing machine was on spin cycle. Then I was
in the doorway freaking out.
My friend in Ventura was awake having sex and thought she and her bf were
breaking the wall down.

91? I remember 94 and 87. January '94 was the best...woke up at 4:30am, stood up and tried to open my bedroom door but every time I found it, it jumped out of my hand. Our power was out for most of the day. In the afternoon we got bored of sitting around with no power, so we went to a restaurant a couple miles away. We waited for over an hour to get a table. All this told me is that things will be very interesting when a big disaster occurs.

That's what I'm talking about, Northridge, January 94.

The LA Times published a great supplement listing each of the 50some casualties.
It was morbid journalism at its best. They ran a photo of each of the deceased above a paragraph
describing how the person died. One guy bought the farm when his microwave fell from
its stand above his bed and onto his head.

the one in 90 was pretty big from what i recall. it was either 90 or 91. i was at someones house and the whole thing started shaking, and there was that thunderous apocalyptic roaring sound (it's not fun unless it sounds like the end of the world).. so we all ran to the backyard - hearing glasses break and pictures falling down - and there i stood and watched the pool shaking, with little half-foot waves lapping over the sides..
