You need to listen to it about ten times before you'll like it.
I like parts of it, when I listen to most of the songs they don't seem 'finished'. The album could be better if it didn't sound this 'improvised/spontaneous'.
The distorted guitar noise on The Nurse makes me skip the track. And I'm not sure I'm quite enthusiastic about the marimba's...
Favourite tracks are My doorbell, Denial twist, Take, take, take and I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet)
I'm tall, I'm Dutch, and Kathryn is still married to her wine connaisseur |

Haven't heard the new album, but I'm thinking about going to a White Stripes concert in the begining of next month. What do you people think, is it worth the money? |

well worth the money, they were superb when I saw them and my slightly obsessed friend says he's never been to a bad gig

I really don't like the new single so I am gonna listen to one of my mate's copies first. I have faith that the album will be good overall though.
They are excellent live EL.

um, i don't really wonder. it was a joke.. cuz, like, she's in love with him and stuff.
get it? "i wonder if she'll get it.." when it's obvious that she'll get it.
see, by pretending to be ignorant of the situation, what i did was create humor, through two opposing concepts. 1.) the idea that she might not buy the record countered by 2.) the fact that she is in love with him..
in combining these two opposing ideas, a high level of humor was achieved and great bursts of laughter ensued.. |

Well after being confused as to the release date, which no one seemed to want to help me out on I went shopping looking essentially for the new T-Rex "Born to Boogie" DVD and the Flaming Lips documentary "The Fearless Freaks" which I actually did find and was quite good I saw that the White Stripes album is actually out and picked it up, listened to the first half of it on the car ride home and it's taken me by surprise really but I'm enjoying it really liked the more hillbilly parts like the song that I think was called "The Ghost" I don't know, I was driving and really couldn't consult a tracklist.

I've given this thing a few more listens and I'm really enjoying "My Doorbell" and "The Denial Twist". The whole album is quite entertaining as a whole but those two are really sticking with me today.

I've only heard Blue Orchid off of it and while there's nothing wrong with the track, there's nothing great about it either. In fact I'm finding it quite forgettable. I don't think I'm going to bother buying the album, especially since from what I saw of the Glastonbury performance for me, their day is over (admittedly this decision was heavily influenced by Meg White's apalling performance of that song that she sings). |

I don't like the album so far but I thought they were fantastic at Glasto. A lad I know who is into dance music called me before the encore to tell me how amazing they were too so they must have been good.
