I hope you post a review after the show Kathryn!

I guess this isn't something that is good today, BUT...I won't be around tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will be at the hospital with my husband awaiting the arrival of our new niece....Leah Rose. If she is anywhere as cute as her 3 year old brother...we are in for a real treat.

My sister-in-law is half Italian and half African American...and she and my brother make real cute babies.

Good luck tomorrow, mosleyk! Should be a memorable day for the rest of your lives.

I probably won't post the Interpol review because (wooo whooooo) I'm gonna be going straight from that show in Canada to a Pixies show in NY. Yessssssssssssss!

Um. I've run out of fingers and toes.

But it's cherry-popping time with Interpol.

This just in.....one of the doctors I work with won tickets to Green Day on the radio. He was listening to the radio when the question "What was soylent green made of" came over the airwaves...he of course said to himself...."people" his wife convinced him to call in. He didn't even have a clue what the contest was. Well, he has no interest in going nor his wife....so he is giving the tickets to me and my husband! We normally don't like big arena type shows...but heck...they are FREE. And all I did was sit here at my desk and eat my lunch ;-)

I'm going to be seeing Terry Pratchett this evening.

(And no offense to Kathryn, but I find it annoying when people use sexual metaphors to refer to seeing bands live. That's just me, though.)

That's funny, just on a whim last night I did a bit of Pratchett Googling. I stopped reading him years ago, but I remember getting his autograph at a SF convention and having him sign a magazine that he was'nt in, to my embarressment. He's doing a signing in Eason's in October, maybe I'll pop along and have him sign my old books!

(No offense taken, VoVat. I'm gonna lie back and think of Paul Banks now, if you don't mind.)

I have a new niece!!!! Actually this was yesterday, but I wasn't around to share. She was delivered c-section, and we held her when she was just a few hours old. She is just darling and a wonderful combination of Irish, Scotish, Italian, and African American.

It was incredible and my husband and I are thinking more and more about adoption.

Carolyanna...Kathryn and all the mothers of the forum. You are blessed!!!

Congrats to everybody, mosleyk. She's a lucky little girl to have an aunt with great taste in music. Take care of her mom, sections are hard.

I finally saw Batman Begins. I guess that would be information more suited to the "I just watched" thread, though, wouldn't it?

I wouldn't call it a good thing. In fact it's the worst movie I've seen this year, period.

Hey Carl, if you do meet Pratchett, I have a question I'd like you to ask him. When Neil Gaiman signed my copy of "Good Omens" a couple years ago, he wrote "Franck—BURN THIS BOOK" and said, "Now, when you meet Terry Pratchett, you'll have to ask him to finish the joke." But I never met Pratchett and doubt I ever will. So I'm counting on you man! I want to know the second part of the bloody joke!

I think making him sign a magazine he wasn't in was a brilliant move though.

I always like the first half of the superhero movies. You know the part where there is still hope for the movie before it descends into plot formula hell.

Today was frighteningly cool. Shitty day at work. Then had an epiphany at 7:30 PM where I just may have figured out my career for the rest of my life. Then ate dinner at my favorite restaurant where the woman I want to date works. She went out of her way to wait on me, then spoke to me for 30 minutes straight. After this, as I drove around the lake listening to Mass Romantic with excited feelings about work and this woman, I saw a shooting star coast across the sky-bright enough to catch my eye through my open sunroof. Whew! Like I can really go to sleep now.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Melt Banana AND Fantomas?????

Excuse me while I go lie down briefly.

Heywood - the show is in Leeds in cold Northern England, at a place called the well. It's a bit of a gritty smelly pub with basically a spare room to the side, but it's got great sound and has a fairly low wanker quotient which is always a good thing. Small venue too which in my mind is always a good thing.

Fire made it good.

Tonight while watching the Red Sox game Renteria made an out and I said to my daughter, "Alright, here comes Manny". Her reply? "What, Ortiz isn't playing tonight?" My 7 year old daughter knows the Red Sox batting order well enough to know when her dad is wrong. Of course, Ortiz bats third, Manny fourth. The kid is going to be alright!
