I mentioned on another thread that I had some photos from the Friday, May 27 shows and there seemed to be some interest so here we go.

Just a few words of explanation for those of you that didn't read my previous posts. Because of the fact that I was right in front, I didn't use any flash. I know it was stupid (trust me, my parents have told me that many times already), but I just didn't want to feel like I was going to be a distraction to the show in any way. When I got home, one friend told me that I didn't want to start an Axl Rose moment. Because of that, some of the pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have hoped, but a few them I was really blown away by. I also was just using a disposable camera, nothing fancy, so no telephoto lens or anything. Anyway, I hope that you like them.

Anyone should feel free to download the pictures if you like them and use them however you want, and if anyone else has any pictures from this show or the one on Thursday the 26th, please post. Also, if there is enough interest, maybe we can change the title of the subject and make this a 2005 tour pictures thread. Or not. I'll let all of you decide on that.

You can also view these pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/clckworang/ where I have put a brief description of the photos and you can download the photos in various sizes (not sure if that makes a difference).

First, the ugly. If you squint really hard you can make out The BellRays, the opening band. This one and the next few that follow are from the early show.

Don't worry. I think that is the worst looking photo of the bunch (although the other photo of The BellRays isn't too much better). This was the only show that I was on Kim's side of the stage so there are quite a few of her. Unfortunately, this was also the only time that I ever had anyone in front of me, so there are a few heads in some shots and the lighting on Kim wasn't quite as good as on Frank and Joey (during his "Vamos" solo).

This next one has grown on me the more I look at it. It is one of the few where Kim and Frank are in the same shot. (It's my desktop wall paper at work.)

More Kim ...

I think this next one was the beginning of Vamos, but I could be wrong.

These next two are definitely from Joey's solo during Vamos. The first one is the only picture that I was really upset I didn't use a flash for because I thought it would be such a cool shot of Frank and Kim kicking back on/by the drumstand while Joey went wild on his solo. I guess it's not too bad though. It could've been much worse. The second shot shows Joey playing with Dave's drumstick.

Last shot from the early show.

And now on to the late show ... The BellRays shot is a little bit better. You can at least make out the singer a bit. Too bad I didn't get a shot of the drummer (again, if you squint really hard ...) because he really was an incredible musician and had lots of energy. The photo still leaves a lot to be desired though.

Now we've been through the bad and the ugly, so let's finally get to the good. These shots from the late show came out so much better than the others, in my opinion, especially the ones of Joey.

Here we come to the crown jewels of my pictures. These were taken during Joey's solo on Vamos and I was absolutely thrilled with how they turned out, especially the last two. The second one is a much better shot of Joey playing with Dave's drumstick. And the third about killed me. I had already decided to not take any more pictures of Joey, but then he went and pointed the guitar right at the audience while he was playing and I just had to click one more time. I was almost right in front of him at the time so when he did it I remember thinking that it was almost as if he was perfectly posing for my camera. (I'm using it now as my home computer's desktop wallpaper.)

One last shot of Frank ...

And finally my last picture of the night. It was supposed to be my money shot. I wanted a picture of all four together, but I was a little too impatient because I thought Frank might not be coming over to them (or at least on the side of the stage that I was at). So I went ahead and clicked because I really wanted one good picture of Dave. Of course, after that, Frank came over and the four of them talked at length about what to play as an encore. Curse you Joey for rocking so hard in your solo! Because of you I had no more pictures left! Oh well. Live and learn. Next time I go digital. Come on, Pixies, you know you want to play a Texas date this year!

Nice pics. Kim looks so sweet with that haircut (check the last pic) and what a cool shirt Dave was wearing.

Thanks so much for these. So clear, and really bringing out the lights. Great momentos for those of us lucky enough to be there.
