Hey, I just put in an order for "Frank Black" on vinyl. Before the order is completed, though, I wanted to see if anyone could tell me how this sounds. Is it good? Worth the extra money? The CD doesn't sound particularly bad, but I'm curious. I don't want to get a crappy vinyl edition of a CD mastering job, you know? Already wasted money on stuff like that.
Thanks, Chris |

That and Cult of Ray are the ones I don't have, so I couldn't tell you, although, if it's a good deal, I would just get it anyways.

It sounds fine. 4AD is a label you can trust when it comes to vinyl. |

I have it on vinyl, but it was really scratchy, so I don't think I can tell you. But from the loud, non-scratchy parts, it sounded great. Post here when you get it. |

I will, IceCream. My copy should be near mint. It was mailed from England on Friday (I live in US). |

i have it on vinyl. how does it sound ? no idea. all FB-records sound damn' good, so what. and the good thing on big black discs is the cover art (altough the FB-CD has some extra good fotos in it - frank as farmer, which is not included on the LP)

Finally got the record today (along with a cracked Blur single. what the hell). So far, it's good. Unfortunately, a little too quiet. But it's clearer than the CD. The percussion sounds better and it's easier to hear a lot of details (cool bass stuff) in the mix. |

You do hear more detail on vinyl. It provides a proper, full sound. CD technology can't replicate those little details right now. |

I just received the Brown album on LP last week. It sounds really good. Better than the cd, I don't know, but it sounds good.
