Gorging on delicious cheese on a daily basis?
Drinking the finest wine in the world?
Speaking the most subtle and suave language in the world.
Or maybe a combination of those exceptional elements, and so many more...
What is our secret?

The name of this thread isn't correct. "How come the french are the smartest of the forum?" French should be capitalized. Also, the smartest what of the forum? You have a noun missing. Among other things.

Monsieur, you grasp at generalities, which is a tell-tale sign of a weak intellect. You speak of "the french ... of the forum" yet there is a vast difference between you and your compatriots. Denis, for example, is funny and smart but never arrogant. Jediroller, Remi. The list goes on. What do you make of this?

French people are smart, but you guys still haven't figured out the whole pick-up-after-your-dog thing.
newsflash: not sanitary, nor attractive.
if i had a dollar for every pile of dog shit i stepped in when i was Paris, i could buy everyone on this forum a glass of cognac

Funny, from the country that maybe was the last European country to accept Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection. They were still stuck on Lamarck's ideas. |

I read a paper on Lamarck for an essay, Lamarckian evolution suggested that environmental factors caused behavioural differences which lead to changing of structure (along those lines, am I right darwin?) his examples were very poor.

In the USA, Darwin is still not generally accepted.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but some of Lamarck's ideas come back to surface...

You're not quite right no, Lamarckian evolution was discredited but the idea of memory evolution has resurfaced in the field of epigenetics, Lamarckian ideas have been tied in but the link is tenuous at best.
Also, our poor British educational system generally accepts Darwinian evolution, but what do we know, we're not what we used to be after all.

Quick aside so we can get back to the baiting: Basically, what you have developed during your lifetime would be passed onto to your kids. Classic example: a blacksmith with large strong arms would have kids with large strong arms. This actually can happen a little through maternal effects. Large healthy moms sometimes may have large healthy offspring because she has provisioned them well (in womb or in the egg). But generally that French guy, Lamarck, was wrong, and it took a Brit to show the correct mechanism. |

This is a political anglo-saxon conspiracy.
I understood that when I went to the museum of science in London. They almost don't mention Pasteur.
And the fact that Fleming was only a member of the team that discovered pennicilin proves that the scientific discoveries have been entirely manipulated.
In France, we had the greatest scientist ever : Docteur Charcot!
