i fought the law (and i won) - dead kennedys. the new lyrics are so much better

down in the park - foo fighters. the only song that i like by the FF. great gary numan cover

take it as it comes - ramones. the doors suck but this song really rocks played by the ramones

telegram sam - bauhaus. the t rex song is ok but taken to a whole new level by the bauhaus

ziggy stardust - bauhaus. same as above

isolation - therapy. a joy division classic in hard rock version.

this is where i belong\just a little - frank black. i've never heard the originals but these are 2 of my fb favourites

i bash newbies for a living

If it is to choose the best cover, I must also agree that Ziggy Stardust by the Bauhaus is the best.
I remember that when I was younger I was so obsessed with it that I had a tape all recorded with the Bowie one and the Bauhaus, it was a bit crazy, but I used to listen to it just like that.

Glad you agree.

I also nominate 'I Wish I was Him', Kathleen Hanna's version of the Noise Addict track.

I tottaly agree on all Fall's cover versions, and they have lots of them.

But Mr. Pharmacist is great.

I heard the Throwing Muses version of 'Manic Depression' recently - very clever choice of song given Kristin's history. Even cleverer with no vocals maybe?

White Light/White Heat - from the 'Lawless' soundtrack by The Bootleggers featuring Mark Lanegan. Soundtrack in general is very good, kudos to Nick Cave.

...and that reminds me of the Repo Man soundtrack released a year or 2 ago. some decent covers on that one. the Institutionalized cover by Amanda Palmer and Grand Theft Orchestra has really grown on me. And Let's Start A War by Mike Watt and The Secondmen was quite good from the first time i heard it.

There must be some great covers of Sister Ray out there. Not only indie guitar but maybe electronic as well. Please post links if you know of any. No Joy Division thanks.
