Project Smile version 2.0 is out now and available to download via bit torrent. This is the most amazing, definitive collection of SMiLE material out there, with hundreds of songs and session tapes, thousands of articles, essays, pictures, etc. and the most comprehhensive SMiLE timeline you've ever seen. The audio files are of course mp3's, as it would take up an unbelievable amount of space to have them as wavs or FLACs, but there are hundreds of them--everything you could possibly imagine (probably everything known to exist), from the recently surfaced "Great Shape" backing tracks, to Brian's ramble on smog, to the "Psychedelic Sounds" boot which has all kinds of crazy chants done by Brian and his friends. You absolutely have to download this! Just join the Project SMiLE Yahoo group (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/projectsmilecd/) and you can either sign up for a vine or B&P or whatever, or you can download the torrent iso file. Be sure to read the rules first, because they are very strict about sharing (at least 100% share ratio on torrent downloads and I think you have to send it to at least two other people if you want your copy via snail mail) or else you can be banned from the group for good and not be allowed to get future updates.

Yeah, the last one was great too. 2.0 has, I believe, like 75 more mp3's than the last one. It's so nice to have all of this in one place.

I would love to get this, but I'm not very up on torrents, etc. I've tried downloading them, or programs to run them, and generally haven't been able to figure it out. Any other way besides snail mail? |
