Great! Stumbled across this old thread with a few personal details, tried to edit them out, which just brought more attention to it by bringing it to the top. If a moderator sees this, can you delete it please? I don't think I can. |

I know. London's not quite on the ocean nor tropical. Just my attempts at humour.

Frank Black never hide the fact that he was more conservative. He never tried to pretend he was humanist blablabla... And I love Frank people. I believe it is easy nowadays to fool ourselves. Democracy allows to make beleive that we are free, especially free to have good consciousness. According to their way of life, most people are conservative.
To have a family, and work passionless for money is definitely a conservative way of life. Passion is also generatated by money in many cases.
So, WE ARE ON THE RIGHT, all of us!!!
And highly intolerant! Democracy is definitely the BEST vicious system...

what is defined as central isn't universal. if we were all to the right, then the centre would just be reposition, thus creating a balance. or something. innit.

the repositioning of the centre isn't something that is done knowingly like you seem to suggest, instead it continually shifts as society changes and develops. i do not agree we are all to the right - because you are basing this on an ideal that doesn't exist today.

Enjoy college...I never really took advantage of all the free time I had when I was a student. Don't fully realize what you got until it's gone.....now I just work all the time. |

Wait...it's actually CALLED "Slough"? Didn't anyone take that as a hint?
Personally, I live in Stenchburg.

So humanism is the opposite of conservatism?

You can pronounce it either way in the United States, Land of the Free.

Sure the city should be pronounced your way, but slough (with a little s, as you typed it above) can be pronounced differently in different countries.
