This thread is getting more and more cringe-worthy by the post.
Don't believe the type!

"No Scrubs" by TLC. I heard it this morning for the first time in forever and fell in cheesy love all over again.
I don't want your number - no I don't wanna give you mine and - no I don't wanna meet you nowhere - no I don't want none of your time and - no

Les Wampas - Little Daewoo
It's the cheesiest thing I've heard in a long time, but terribly enjoyable.

"Summer Girls" by LFO, but I think it's more because it fucking cracks me up with rap lines like,"Michael J. Fox played Alex P. Keaton".
I have a fairly sizeable "Stupid Rock" section in my record collection. I could get real ugly in this thread, REAL UGLY. |

When I saw the title of this thread I immediately thought of Britney Spears' "Toxic." And of course, it actually is a good song, so I shouldn't be ashamed of liking it so much. I think I've just been conditioned to feel ashamed about it. Also, Justin Timberlake's album Justified is a very good one. Agreeably, I really dig the beats on that album. It's tight and clean and loud. Catchy stuff. Unashamedly so.

Indeed, I was too ashamed to admit I knew who it was.

Aside from the fact that he's the very epitome of dorkiness.

You say dorkiness is shameful, yet you quote one of the dorkiest (admitedly, yet one of the most talented, diverse and amazing) bands ever with each post?
I was gonna post another song I'm ashamed of liking, but "I was out of ideas." |

I don't know. To me, "dorky" carries more of a sense of being totally pathetic. I realize not everyone defines it that way, though. I'd say TMBG can be reasonably described as nerdy or geeky, but those are two adjectives I'd never apply to Mr. Timberlake (well, unless he showed a burst of unexpected intelligence, I suppose).

I'm just giving you a hard time, which, as a die-hard TMBG fan myself, I think I can get away with. Yes, it's just a matter of how you define "dorky." And as an afterthought, I actually did think the terms "nerdy" and "geeky" were more appropriate. Yes, TMBG and Timberlake are nothing alike. Except maybe their fashion sense.

It shouldn't hurt too much, Kathryn. I haven't lost any respect for you.
Oh, and the ending of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day centers around a fantastic, menacing riff. I'm much more ashamed to say something positive about Green Day than I am ashamed to say something positive about "Summer '68". Rick Wright was a great singer. Definitely a better vocalist than Gilmour. |
