I'd get around to disliking it again pretty soon if I were you.

Ever seen that 'HiHi Puffy Amiyumi' cartoon? I've downloaded some songs by the pop group the toon is "based" on ('Puffy' in Japan', 'Puffy AmiYumi' in the West), and the songs are really really good. They're just some manufactured girl singing duo with a backing band which is crap, but whoever writes the songs for them has got pop skillz!

http://www.puffyamiyumi.com/
'December' is such a Beach Boys rip! And 'Joining A Fan Club' totally lifts a riff from Just A Girl by No Doubt! Swindlers! Still like them though.

Great, I have the same taste as Japanese 12 year olds.

HPM, that took a lot of courage. I applaud you.

I'd say I really like "Summer '68" by Pink Floyd. It's a Beatles-y song, very poppy, nowhere near quintessential nor indicative of the band's sound, with some parts being a little too happy and/or fluffy, and the lyrics are terrible. But I really like the trumpet breaks. Great melodies.

Thanks IceCream. It doesn't really sound like any of their other stuff in that it displays some maturity and feeling. The only other time they managed that was with 'Stay Together For The Kids', which was also a good song I thought.

I am embarrassed to say I like the song "I melt with you" by Modern English. That was really hard to say.

I like all the hairbands from the late 80's too, but I am kinda proud of that

I actually liked that effing Titanic song by Celine. I know, I know...I'm a dork, but it was kind of one of those moments where I saw the movie with someone and then every time I heard the song ...oh never mind.

"My heart will go on" is a fucking amazing song.

Or it was the first five times I heard it. After one million listenings my opinion about it has changed a little...

You know I am really not ashamed of that at all. Aside from the fact tha so much of it reminds me of my childhood, it's also some of the greatest pop music ever.

My kid's obsessed with Madonna. But her all-time faves are the Deal twins.
She pretends she's Kim and makes me pretend I'm Kelley and she has these little toy guitars (a pink one and purple one). Her favorite song at the moment is "Doe," which I have to listen to about 30 times a day. She does this Homer Simpson imitation, where she says "D'oh! D'oh! D'oh!" the way Homer would if he were singing that Breeders song. The kid is 3.

I worry that the authorities will take her away due to bad parenting.

Back on topic, I looooooooooooove Lionel Richie.
