I'm kinda drunk now as I post this. Probably over the last few years I've been averaging about 3 times a week. I don't feel addicted but I still don't have a good enough reason to stop (eg health reasons, girlfriend/wife, money). How about you? |

It depends entirely on who is in town, who I am with and a whole bunch of other stuff. At the moment I'm not drinking at all, but that's simply due to a course of antibiotics. There are some nights I can have 2 drinks and be well on my way to being quite hammered and other nights when I can drink all night and be stone cold sober. Friday nights I'm usually out drinking with the lads from work and it depends on whether the husband is in town or not as to whether I make a night of it or not. Having said that for me to be proper drunk is a pretty rare occurance. I'm pretty self conscious of my drunken behaviour - more so in that it can act as a truth serum and my rather frank and candid views are often misinterpreted, so I try not to get to the silly state unless I'm around certain people who I know babysit me very well. Alchohol is far from my drug of choice though - she's a fickle mistress and damn difficult to predict.
The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. |

I probably get drunk about once a month, either through going out or getting melancholy on red wine and music. I drink no more than three times a week usually, and that would be either half a bottle of wine or a couple of beers.
I rarely get absolutely hammered anymore as well, maybe a couple of times a year. Got to say, I do enjoy it when I do it though :)

i genuinely like the taste of beer, wine and whiskey, so i will have a drink a few nights a week - the only times i purposely try and get drunk are at festive occassions like parties, weddings, etc. other than that, maybe 4, 5 times a year with certain friends. i would much rather have a beer every night than have ten in one night and then not drink again for a few weeks.

I drink maybe a couple of times a month, maybe less, so it takes a teeny bit to get me tipsy.

Yeah, I love a good beer too, but that said I only generally drink once a week (occassionally twice) and usually don't drink enough to get anything more than tipsy, which is as good as drunk so far as I'm concerned, plus without the sideeffects the next morning.

I've not been drinking since January, so maybe once since then, purely financial reasons, but even before that maybe once a fortnight, I hate drinking at home and student finances don't stretch to an overly active pub life. In fact, my friends and I are more likely to be found in coffee shops or drinking tea in this one bar than with a pint nowadays.
Is this what old feels like?

As hard as it is to believe, I've never been drunk.

I go through phases. There's nothing like some cold beers and a barbeque after surfing all day. I hang with a young crowd and when I first got this house they were coming over in shifts to play foosball and dart's etc. I was drinking almost everynight for about a month and a half there. About the sixth week I woke up a fat ass and put the brakes on. I've been maybe once a week but have had some three week periods without drinking lately. I'm trimming up so I'm refining my diet right now I fear the beer has got to go. I haven't drank since last Saturday. It's hard to be single and not drink. I need me a good woman to keep me in line. By good I mean one that won't pop as easily as the other one. i don't know about you guys but for me there's no bigger turn off than duct tape. You know? You're just getting into it then that strip of duct tape catches your eye. Suddenly you're like "I wonder what's on t.v.?" You know what I mean?

Maybe I'm drunk but I've had to read KOK's post three times now and I still don't get it? Are you talking about your inflatable doll again?

Um yes. I'm going back to the way I used to post. Back when I was completely anom.. amon.. Completely unknown. I used to pretend I was some weirdo in a trailer with a blow up doll and my only windows to the world were a thirteen inch black and white tv with one channel, and this computer. I had more material back then. Prepare yourself

Tell me about the stained wife-beater shirt you're wearing. Tell me about your parole officer busting you for DUI while you were pulling into the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. Tell me about your three teeth. Tell me about your outhouse. Tell me about the pile of empty fast-food wrappers in the middle of your trailer.

I don't, I don't drink at all now. I find Red Bull and similar drinks to have a more pleasant effect on me.
I don't think I've ever been roaring drunk, like VoVat. I don't really like the idea, although I've been well on my way once or twice. Summer's a dangerous time for that - its extremely busy at work and no-one's allowed time off, so every Friday tends to be a veeery big night out at the pub.

I get drunk about once a month average. I consider myself being quite good at getting pretty drunk without getting over the line and without the negative effects next morning. |

KOK I know you will find a cool non inflatable gf... it bound to happen
It's funny, I used to get drunk in college 4 nites a week and drink six or seven days a week. I was a party girl, in part to compensate for my strict upbringing.
That phase tapered off after school.
Now I will get drunk 4-9 times a year. But like a lot of you, all that has a lot to depend on mood, money, health etc.
Like Surfer, my tolerance is all over the board too. Sometimes its two drinks or a lot more.

Hav'nt been drinking mush lately, never was a big drinker. I like a nice, cold, beer, but I get sick of drinking it. I'm quite fond of vodka and coke, although it kind of goes down to easy!! |

I too am fond of vodka and coke, but coke not as much since it is too expensive and it takes me days to recover from it. |

i haven't been drunk for about 2.5 months which i think is a record for me. i made a promise to myself that i wouldn't drink while i was away at work, but would while back home, so no drinking for 2 weeks, then back to drinking every day for a week. seems to be going well so far.
i decided that i needed to do something after being on holiday for 3 months and drinking every single day - not getting drunk, but doing a beer and food tour of the world makes it tricky in that sense.
but in saying that, we've now got 2 sets of home brew brewing at home. oh well.
