Brought my acoustic to a luthier yesterday and he said it was a terminal case. I´ve had it for twelve years and it had started to sound beautiful but I use 3mm picks made of bone so managed to warp the bridge up into a sizeable hump and I didn´t even get to finish the hole I was working on beside the pickguard.

Played to the grave, Newo. It wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Twas an old Hohner I´d grown fond of. I suppose I could give it a Viking burial in the Mediterranean.

My guitar has been zombified as it still sounds nice using slide or odd tunings with capo.

Pulled back from the grave. Well rescued, newo.

But we have to burn something.

Burn the luthier!

So it wasn't completely beyond rehabilitation? Or has it really risen from the grave to haunt the back of the musical instrument closet?! ;)

pas de dutchie!

I gave the guitar away to a Galician friend who sleeps on the streets, he broke his because somebody else broke it a little - go figure. Anyway he has this great bass growl of a voice and tunes down to C when he plays so the slightly slack string thing mightn´t bother him as much.
