I've heard a couple of editors tracks you know, and that one, blood is it? is he really singing blood runs through our veins? because it sounds like he's singing blood runs through our feet. I thought they were a birmingham band? even thats taking the accent too far.

It's a good song though.

If you invite people who all have the same blood type to a party, but you don't tell them, they'll talk about something else

Yeah they are from Birmingham but no it is "blood runs through our veins, that's where our similarity ends".

Another of their tracks, "Bullets" is on my mix CD.

Hey Cassandra Is......

I noticed you mentioned Death in Vegas on a earlier post. Have you listened to The Contino Sessions? It is absolutely stellar!

Currently....I have The Blacks Keys on high rotation. Seeing them in September. I am so impressed with the production value of Rubber Factory, and Patrick's drumming is out of this world....and I have a thing for the smokey vocals of Dan ;-)

Roxy Music (any of the first five albums)- I listen to these guys constantly, they are probably my favorite rock band. Not that strictly calling them rock is a just description.

T. Rex 'The Slider'- A lot of people already know how awesome this album is but if you don't and you like cool glam rock/blues rock/psychedelia it's at least worth a good listen.

Ssion 'Opportunity Bless My Soul' - punkish, dirty, funny, creative, manic, expressive, explosive, bliss.

Scratch Acid 'The Greatest Gift' - Texas post-punk unlike anything else I've heard. Disturbing and pummeling and on drugs.

Mary Timony 'Ex Hex' - the best Mary Timony album and among the best of the Helium albums. Cool and original progressive-like stuff with weird lyrics and blissy harmonies.

Boyd Rice 'Music for Pussycats' - a collection of obscure 60's girl-pop.

Solex 'Low Kick and Hard Bop' - really cool beats, charming and original vocals, great mixing. made from a bunch of mixed records with added instruments and vocals. Elizabeth Esselink has created a pretty cool universe with this album.

Ahhh, Roxy Music... That was (is!!) a band of a kind we would love to hear more often. The first song I heard from them was a cover by... Frank Black!! Then I discovered some of their songs through Velvet Goldmine... I heard the original ones and bought all of their albums...
Yes the first 5 ones are a non-stop perfect collection. Country Life in particular is the richest in terms of songwriting, sounds and moods....

T-Rex, thanks to Velvet Goldmine too... Bloody gay film!

My favorite along with "Metal Guru" is "Rabbit Fighter"... And I feel very weird listenning to "Main Man". All the more these days...

i've been playing kings of leon (purchased on the strength of bucket) non-stop. great album! also bob mould body of song and honeycomb. probably won't listen to anything else except the cd swap comps for the next little while, and the pete tong soundtrack (if i get it for my birfday).

The waxworks were an immensely eloquent dissertation on the wonderful ordinariness of mankind.

They have just finished recording their third album in the same studios that I practice in. They played a gig there too recently.

One of them owns my favourite two bars in Manchester also and they are often in.
