Like an hour from me. But once again, the curse of the school night strikes again. I'll see if maybe some fidgeting will get me there. Problem is that it is exactly one week after Stephen Malkmus, which is also a school night, and I doubt I'd be allowed to weeknight concerts within a week of each other.

It's easy to get these stories, I have Google Alerts for Pixies, and you can check Google news. I love posting them, though. Some of the online papers require you to register to check out articles, of course (often for free, but you have to enter a load of your details). Sometimes, you get a direct link to the story with Google Alerts, there was one from News & Observer but I deleated the email before copying the link, and I can only get the registration page!!

Here's a few that folks may have already posted:

I'll forgive the guys for stuffing seven or so new songs into their set, as several of those numbers had a fresh, funky feel.

The bigger problem was that many of the band's jams meandered too long into self-indulgence.

I read that in the article and I was like WHAT??? Their longest song Vamos can't be more than 4 mins...and Why is he dissing these new songs?? Then I realized he started with the Pixies and then went into DMB. LOL.
