I recall back in the day, that David Lovering really had a thing for Debbie Gibson...15 years later, she goes by Deborah Gibson and apparently has done a PLAYBOY spread for the current issue. She is doing a short acoustic performance at Tower records in Hollywood on March 4th...will Lovering be there?!?
I would have to guess that every TRUE HARDCORE DG fan will be there or be square. So I guess it just depends on how hardcore his fandom is. Who knows maybe he's moved on after all these years. LOL
She was a teen singer in the mid-to-late 80s and then she became a theater actress or something. She's somewhat of a pop-culture joke. Except for the little-known Pixies thing.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics
She's "somewhat" of a pop-culture joke. Verymuch, Even. Funnily Enuff, "make believe" was always one of my favourite B-sides.Not that i ever really had a thing for Debbie, - sorry, Deborah. Tho the photos on tower are a bit of a tease.
I always thought the song was kinda about women (or people) who are artistically or morally detestable yet in some way attractive - Sorta the way I feel about Brittney Spears ;){Gonna get Lynched for sure}. I would love s'one to set me straight on this one....
