I think that last year the Pixies played really great their songs but I have some little comments about little variations they did For example.
Caribou: I like how Joey extended the solo in the final performances but I have to admit IMHO that it's way better the normal solo and then the two guitars go very loud on those killer final riffs (check out BBC version)
Gouge Away: I think it's better that FB starts to sing ''Gouge away..'' inmediatly and not wait too long
Vamos: It would be better a faster intro, just like old days
In Heaven: I think everybody was surprised that Kim sang this song, which is cool because it showed a new performance but it would be amazing if FB could sing it
...and well that's it so what do you think? would you like some variations too? or maybe I'm just a too anal fan and I just should shut my mouth
Any opinions?

yeah...I'm agree, with some variations....
for example I love the start of gouge away with the keyboard...like the FB&catholics version.
and yeah...i'd rather a faster version of vamos and kim a charles could sing In Heaven 50% and 50%.
but....there are a lot of improvements of songs...like the vamos solo or the power playing of river euphrates or cactus.
They are better musicians than the 90's era, the will be perfect if they could play more bossanova songs!

Here is my list:
1) New setlists. Not just 'greatest hits'. More variety. Some new ones (?), some b-sides, some late-career, just something to make each show feel special instead of like going through the motions.
That is all.

I agree with kathleen 1,000,000 % and levitated your so right about the keyboard on gouge away i think if they would do that it would be mind blowing, i just love the sound of keyboard on that song!

Yeah, I think they'd need EDF to do justice to some of the Trompe songs like Motorway. And he could certainly spice up ones like Cactus and Gouge Away. I love the organs for Gouge Away.

would it be a buzzkill to vote that they cut the new tour short?
i wish they'd get back to their other projects, and do a special Pixies show every now and then..
guess i'll have to wait another year or so |

EDF is also needed to make them play a decent Bam Thwok. The way they did it the last tour pretty much sucked. That's probably the reason they only played it a few times.
EDF playing the organ break would be a lot better than Joeys noise
I'm bored with the valleys and bored by the peaks. So I bought a ticket to the Pixies |

I just want them to play for me, that's all I ask. I'm a humble girl.
Who am I to say what they should or should not do?
(I would love to see them in a small place, not in a festival)

"Gouge Away" : just like with the Caholics or EDF.
I would like Joey to play much faster, with more notes... Not like a shred but spice up the solos a little more. Not just a big feedback and the riff of "Where is my mind" during the Vamos' solo. Just like during the last tour before the split in fact, when he changes his part a little bit (for instance, "Gouge Away", "The Holiday Song", "The Happening").
And much songs from the Bossanova and Trompe le monde. |

They should bring Eric Drew out on tour, sometimes. Or even just play a couple of shows with him! |

I would like to see some new songs added to the rotation including levitate me and bam thwok.
I really love the Vamos solo and if they could continue to make it unique and suprising each time that would be cool.
EDF would be cool, too.
I would also like to see Frank, Kim and Joey atttached to harnasses and playing/singing along while swinging through the air like peter pan... ( j/k) |

Maybe they could write some new material and promote it. That'd be sweet. The Pixies greatest hits reunion is so 2004. The term "Flogging a dead horse" comes to mind if they continue this greatest hits reunion in 2005. Give the fans the new album they want. Who gives a shit if its crap, fuck, we forgave the Beatles for those reunion singles in 1995, I'm sure we could forgive the Pixies if they serve up a steaming turd. |

I never went to a show, but I saw them on Austin City Limits, and there were some weird vocal things they did that I didn't like. Specifically on "Debaser" and "Gigantic" during the choruses. On both, Frank and Kim, respectively, went lower instead of higher, like on the records. The "Andalusia" part and the "gigantic" parts. Does anybody else know what I'm talking about?

No doubt years of drinkingm drugs and smoking has stuffed Kim's voice up, and FB is prolly changing his singing to compensate for her. |
