I like the Futureheads. Nearly saw them live on Conan a few months back.
Steve, what'dyou mean "i've got winamp set up with their album"? I don't understand what that means.

they a just a poor parody of XTC, it doesnt work for me at all. I like the kaiser chiefs, highly entertaining but the futureheads, no.

Fair enough Domestiques. You gonna go see them at Reading though? Maybe they will convince you live. I hope so.

I thought at first their sound was 'forced quirkyness', like they are trying to be too different from their contempories, but then i started to realise that their sound is genuine and so i like them now

I am hoping to see them, maybe thats what I need to do, see them in a live environment. I have the album and it fairs well in places.

I don't remember the name of the song, but they play the video between shows on Trio, maybe it'll come on again soon.

ha! XTC isn't all that. The Futureheads music is very original and I honestly do not see this XTC comparison or parody as you put it. |

Shhh. That topic is forbidden in these sacred halls...and 'they' should be referred to as The Seattle Band, it's bad luck!! Kind of like the way you say the The Scottish Play instead of Macbeth!

Saw them supporting the Pixies at the Ally Pally show last year and I thought they were pretty good live. Seemed to have a pretty strong fanbase at the show as well, mainly hispanic dwarves. All in all though I wouldn't rank them much higher than most of the more mainstream 'alternative' acts that are plauging the British music scene at the moment ie Kaiser Chiefs etc

I would say they were. For example, everytime I turn on the television they are there pricking around like a bunch of pricks.

I saw the Futureheads supporting Oasis at Hampden last year, they were quite good, better than the Super Furry Animals anyhoo, although their singer came on with a Power Rangers helmet!! How fantastic.

I just heard a song by Canadian band Smothered in Hugs and they remind me somewhat of Futureheads though not so harmony heavy. Anyone heard them? You can hear some of their stuff on newmusiccanada.ca. The song I heard was Young Flare.
