In my opinion, Trompe was (along with Doolittle) the greatest Pixie album ever! This band went out in their prime.

They came back better than their prime and they left before.

They will never recover their prime, it is gone forever (making Kevin Spacey as Keyser Soze gesture).

Well, if you count Come On Pilgrim, they released five albums, which is indeed a prime. A sixth would ruin this, as the number six is divisible by both two AND three.

Pilgrim is kind of a mini-album, though.

Yeah, Pilgrim is like an EP. I consider Surfer Rosa as their first "album." Doolittle was great and was more consistent. But Trompe had some of my favorites ever, Alec, Memphis, Roswell, Sound, Head Down.

Surfer's my fave. Although it's hard to choose between that and Dolittle sometimes.

Surfer is my least favorite, I like Bossanova more than that.

Trompe is the best one, there is raw power dans strong melodies. I keep listening to Alec Eiffel, Letter to Memphis, The Sad Punk... etc. It's my favorite one.

Bossanova is cool, there are great tunes such as Ana, Blown Away and The Happening, but it's not as strong as Trompe. I think this album (Bossanova) is not finished, something is missing.

Bossanova is the "different" album. It has a different sound and feel. It is hard to argue against Doolittle or Trompe, that is why I believed they are tied for the best. Trompe might have some songs that are better than the best on Doolittle, but Doolittle is so consistent, every song is GREAT, every one of them!
