Actually, I have met Neko. She signed a poster for me. Generally, my "meetings" with celebrities consist of putting something in front of them to sign, and, if I'm feeling particularly courageous, saying "thank you." I DID shake Frank's hand when I met him. I've also met Eloise McGraw, a children's author who wrote a few of the later Oz books. I have not, however, met Scott McCaughey, although I once had a dream where I did.

I'm guessing Holiday Son hasn't met PJ Harvey.

I'm going to do the same meeting thing again.

John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants
Johnny Hickman of Cracker
Jian Ghomeshi of Moxy Früvous

I also don't think you met PJ
and Vovat, I'm going with a guess at Jian Ghomeshi of Moxy Früvous
(I copied and pasted that you know)

today I

  • wrote a six verse poem about why my friend is a meany

  • drew a pretty good picture of my friend the meany in a straight jacket

  • made up a little song about why my friend is a meany

  • I joined the cult of Derek/ because Dereks don't run

Nope, Tre does good poems. I don't think she wrote the song as well though.

I did write the poem in the middle of a two hour lecture on plant genetics, in fact I wrote two poems one long one about being mean and one sweet one that went:

    Roses are red
    A trout is a fish
    I love you Smits
    I think you're delish!

They took the whole page home with them so I don't remember the mean one so well, I also drew the straight jacket picture but because we have to be quiet in lectures I couldn't make up a little song
    (or I would have)

(edit) ah, well done simon you're right and I think I have just disproved the "tre does good poems" right there, although better than smits whose response to my declaration of love wrote "thank you tre, you are free" which made me laugh loud enough for the lecturer to notice I think.

Hehe, it's either Turkey or Portugal right?

    Foiled by your double-posting madness!

    Today I have:

    Played indoor rounders
Tried and failed to explain the concept of Student Services to some applicants
    Discussed circumcision with women

Simon I can fully believe you failed to explain things to students (I'm blaming the students here not your good self) so I agree with K

Kittie did not take singing lessons? But...but...she has the voice of an angel!

Not Atwood. Bingo! I could have met her, briefly, after
a lecture but I was too freaked out about it, very
"Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl," palms at my temples
    and screaming "I LOVE YOU!!!!!!"

Various reasons prevent me from answering Kittie's
    latest trio of "facts."

Brian is right. I'm never met Johnny Hickman.

Tre, what do you mean by "two sets of lies"? Does that mean only one statement is true? If so, I'm guessing you did speak to the American forum member. If only one is a lie, I'm guessing you also watched "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

I have seen the following in concert:

    Art Garfunkel
    Laura Cantrell
    Afroman

As hard as it might be to believe, I saw Afroman open for TMBG. I think that's a candidate for most misplaced opener ever. Garfunkel did some singer-songwriter weekend show where TMBG also played, which is why I was there. I've never seen Laura Cantrell live, but I wish I could.

I have visited the following states:

    Vermont
    South Carolina
    New Mexico

I did play rounders (it's not a girls' sport, its the classic artform from whence was derived baseball and softball). we played it with a cardboard tube and a red nose.
I did chat about circumcision with a group of women, ending up with them asking me repeatedly whether or not I was cut. Nice!
I did fail to explain some stuff to some applicants, but it was the Media Centre, not Student Services. Sorry.

VoV, no-one goes to Vermont, it's only raison d'être is sub-standard maple syrup.

    Today I plan to:
    Wash my sheets
Fill in a job application form
Take my watch-strap to be fixed

Your not even playing it properly fool, but yes your right about the age thing, the way i see it is quite selfish as long as i am happy with myself and my morality has no qualms with my actions or attitude, i dont give a fuck as long as im happy. Being childish makes me happy, its called being a hedonist.
