I don't know if I should post this in General Frank Black Chat, but since it's quite irrelevant I decided to put it where all the irrelevant posts are. So last night I had my first Frank Black dream. Wanna hear about it? I was at a concert - it was Frank Black solo but he only played Pixies songs (only the hits ). He played for less than an hour and then he picked up the microphone and let the audience ask him questions. People were asking him about UFO's and shit like that and he gave weird answers, so people started leaving. So I started chatting with Frank and it was a very nice chat. He told me a funny story from his childhood and it was so funny I fell off my chair. I can't remember want it was about though. A lovely dream, it really was. |

Cool. I have been having some really good dreams lately, but I wake up only remembering that they were good, not what they were about.

I had one with Frank a couple of week ago. It was a solo gig in a village in the mountains and I was the only one in the audience. He played and one song and then gave me his guitar. |

I could post in this thread about once a week. I have oodles of Frank dreams or Frank-related dreams. Here are but a few: Kurt Waldheim (?) arriving on horseback to deliver to me my own fb.net T-shirt (only in dreams do those Ts finally get made!); McDave and me in my childhood bathroom; Frank talking to me about his favorite sandwich; EDF stopping by for a cup of tea but then taking all of my husband's guitars. ....

I have only had one Pixies' dream, I was waiting to catch a plane outside of a airport, and they were having a concert on the front lawn of the airport. But it was a concert over-looking a kind of pool/deep-fryer type of thing.
It was like a pool, but the water was boiling hot, and people were in cages. So I climbed in one of the strange cages - to observe the concert of course, and it was kind of a Tetris-esque type of thing. Where I had to slide people around that were in cages, just to find a seat in the deep-fryer/pool.
I remember I got to sit near Kim Deal, and The Pixies never really played any Pixies songs, but instead played a mix of beach songs and then put on leather and started talking about how they like to ride motorbikes. |

Everyone was in bathing-suits, it was kind of like a human deep-fryer. Everyone was in cages too, like you see french fries go into a deep-fryer. In those little cage things, but everyone seemed to be enjoying thmeselves. |

What was Frank wearing? Was he in a giant French-fry fryer or something?

No, leatha'. Letha' jacket, and a leather biker hat. Kind of like BDSM action. It was very strange, the entier band was dressed like that. It was kind of like the "Dig for Fire" video. |

man, i wish i have had a Pixies dream last night. I kinda had a strange dream about hanging out with Hunter S. Thompson. I was reading about him before I went to bed, so that goes to figure.
In the last week or so, I think I had a dream about the website but thats a bout it!! |

In last night's Frank dream, Frank asked me to babysit little Jack and then my siblings walked in the room and started a rowdy pillowfight and Frank looked concerned, like he wasn't about to leave his child with these hoodlums and I asked my brother to quiet down. Then I woke up, just as Frank was talking to me about the upcoming Europe shows and before I had a chance to beseech him to get the Catholics out on tour soon.

I have had dreams involving Frank in the past...but yesterday I came across this thread, and giggled to myself about how funny it is to have dreams about those we respect. Well, needless to say, last night I had a dream involving the Pixies (thanks no doubt to this thread) as they are now. They wanted a fifth member (another guitarist), and somehow I (!) was auditioning for them. We were standing on a driveway. I was far to the left, with Frank/Black/Charles standing to my right, so as I could easily take cues from him. Next to him was Kim, with Dave to the back of us, and Joey down front right. Without telling me what we were going to be playing, Joey and Dave broke into Rock Music...Frank watching me, I was supposing, to see if I would come in correctly on the distorted bar chording. I was nervous, scared shitless actually, but I did pretty damn good and we got through the song. The dream then switched to a living room where we all sat around gabbing about insignificant stuff. We barely talked about Pixies stuff...mostly Kim and Charles and Dave joked to each other inwardly (I wish I could remember clearly), and Joey just kind of stayed quiet. We sat around for a long time, then Charles asked me if I wanted to go along with him to hit a few bars and meet up with a couple of his pals. How could I resist? Well...unfortunatly I had to ABRUPTLY resist because my alarm clock went off. Crap.

you only remembered it because you were woken up. i hate when i'm woken up in the middle of a dream. you want to get back in to it but then you realise it's no use, and you feel bad.

Ah! But you are mistaken. I remember at least three dreams I've had each day, AND have mastered the art of continuing a dream at will. Just one of the insignificant things Im proud of having taught myself...along with raising one eyebrow like Spock.
Honestly, I find the dream I'm having upon being awakened in the morning is usually the one that I tend to forget within 30 minutes.

alright, but that's generally the case. it's how doctors do studies on dreams, by waking people up when they're showing signs that they're dreaming.
good dream recall and ability to have lucid dreams are linked... i'll never believe in lucid dreams til i have one myself, freak! :P

Speaking of motorcycles, I had a dream that Frank and Joey died in a motorcycle accident. Really depressing, but that's the nature of dreams sometimes.

Yet another Frank dream, which has left me feeling downright depressed this morning.
I'm in a theater, a beautiful, restored old place with red velvet curtains and beautiful golden architectural details. Is full of people, every seat is full, everybody is waiting to see FB+TheCs post-Pixies reunion. I am standing in the aisle, off to the side, talking with Rich Gilbert. I see that Frank and McDave and Scott Boutier are walking down the other aisle toward the stage and I feel so glad because (in real life) at the first of the reunion shows I caught I was so glad that Frank was being shown the way to the stage (you know how security guards or whoever shines little lights and guides them through the dark up to the stage?) and I'd felt (in real life) so happy for Frank that he was finally getting a big tour and a big venue (unlike the 1980 and 1990s Pixies shows I'd seen at smaller places or the Catholics shows I'd seen in small clubs). Anyway in my dream last night, I was happy that Frank was again in a small, intimate venue and walking thru the crowd. He and McDave were laughing as they made their way to the stage. I told Rich Gilbert that he should join them up there and he took off. They started playing "California Bound" and I woke up feeling not happy but sad because I cannot begrudge Frank his success or money or big Pixies tour(s) but, damn, that dream was so real but not about to happen soon.
