How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

How do you combine these two? As a salad with some kind of dressing? Do you fry the cheese?
I ask, because I dicovered yesterday, that my supermarket has halloumi and would love to experiment with it. Used it fried on a couscous-salad I made myself for lunch yesterday.
Sliced uncooked halloumi with sliced cold watermelon. People think they must fry halloumi but in Cyprus it's just as often eaten cold. In hot weather (lots of that in Cyprus) watermelon and halloumi is a great combo because it cools you down.
Dinner last night: cheddar cheese popcorn.

Ok, thanks kathryn. I will try that out. Sounds both delicious and easy to make. Lots of hot weather here at the moment. |

I've eaten way too much - barbequed, so there were pork and apple sausages, steak, halloumi, spinach, avocado & sprout salad followed by apple & blueberry sponge with custard.

I don't know what my problem is. I can't just eat regular normal food and be happy like most people. Instead, I have to have the unusual, exotic, and unfortunately more expensive food. I went bland for lunch, and now I have this craving, void like I need to go eat something really delicious. I should really learn to cook some amazing foods so that I am not blowing my money all the time. Anyway, last night was this thai rice soup that one mixed with a water spinach and garlic dish, and a spicy beef that one ate with it. Thai after-bar food from what I was told.

I had a delicious meal tonight. ****All vegans please skip this post--I'm serious!!*** (I'm giving you warning!) OK, are you all gone? I went to Boi Na Braza, a brazilian steakhouse. Didn't want to go. Wasn't excited about the prospect at all based on the one time I went to a similar steakhouse. I was so wrong. They had am amazing salad bar with fresh marinated artichoke hearts with four inches of stem. These weren't the canned variety. Delicious smoked salmon, fresh asparagus, hearts of palm, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke bottoms, belgian endive, and those were just the ones I had-sure there were more. Then the different meats on skewers were overwhelming. My favorites were the rack of lamb, and especially the beef with garlic--It was insanely flavorful, like among the best beef I have eaten in my life. The other cuts were good, but that beef with garlic I will remember for a very long time. I usually hate fat, but it had an intentional pocket of garlic smothered fat, it was so unbelieveable I had to eat it!! Sorry for the description, but I cannot help but mention it. The ladies surely enjoyed the gauchos carrying the skewers from table to table, and the brazilian hostesses were swimsuit modelesque. Only downside was getting hit with the bill for all of us.

Last night, I had a hot dog and some macaroni and cheese.
I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied. |

Brave, or foolhardy? <g>
Last night, I had a frozen pizza. Well, it wasn't frozen when I ate it, but you know what I mean.

Tonight I barbequed chilli & coriander salmon, toulouse sausages & sardines with chilli (I couldn't bring myself to eat the sardines - I have boney fish issues)
Fire made it good. |

For lunch, I had a ham and cheddar cheese sandwich on rye, two bananas, a cup of yogurt, two glazed doughnuts, and apple juice.

Pretty much everything had a lot of sugar in it, though. And I probably could have had some vegetables, but, well, I don't like vegetables that much. :P
