I've found a freind who my parents know and like, and we're planning to go together now and do the whole staying at each others houses thing... just hope we don't get found out She's not really a fan of the pixies, but i'll drag her along anyway. We might have a few problems with transport but ahh well nobody's perfect.

So are you just going for the Friday? I suppose it will be harder to pull this scam off for a whole weekend.

It will be... a challenge. I might try the Friday til Saturday, depending on what my freind wants to see. I'm happy with just going for the day, in fact i'd prefer to, but I have a feeling she might want to stay. Also going to Reading and back in one day could be interesting!

because it will sell out before I can save enough for the ticket. Well I have to get a job first. Oh christ, will eveyone light a candle and wish real hard that the bank give me this loan.
And if they do, then it might still be a little tricky because I might be going to another gig in another country...
I've said too much.

EroticV, that was my friend's and mine tried and true method of spending the night with our respective boyfriends. I hope it works out for you!

You can always try to escape during the night, I did that a lot of times, but maybe that won't work in this case, because the gig may start earlier...

well, the pixies won't be on til like 9 or 10 or whatever, but who knows where he lives, might hours away. Plus, if you've spent 60 or 70 quid (that's just for a day) on a ticket, you'd wanna get my monies worth and see as many bands as possible. |

Hang in there Miss Vulture...
Definately try to talk to your mom. Communication is so important. Maybe say, look if I can improve my grades by X then can I go....
Also say, if I show I am responsible by coming home on time, can I go?
Just try to make a deal where if you improve you can go.
My parents were the type they thought the Pixies were literally evil so it was impossible to reason with them... but I feel your pain.
It's funny now because the don't care what I listen to. |

I wouldn't mention it to your parents again if you are planning on staying at your friend's house (but actually going to Reading). If you keep mentioning it then the date will be etched in their brain and then when it comes to that weekend and you say you are staying at your friend's house, they will either say no or keep phoning to check you are there or whatever. It will look too suspicious to them. Don't mention it to them again unless you think they really may let you go.

This is just the first batch. There are more going on sale in a couple of weeks or so.
EDIT: Actually forget that 'cos it would appear that meanfiddler were talking out of their collective arses when they said this was just an initial batch. Good job we got them or there would be hell to pay now.

Lately i'm debating going to Leeds instead, as it's closer and the freinds I will go with (if I go...) has relatives that live only 15 minutes away from the site. But i'm basically giving up on Reading. People are never so posotive about Leeds, what's with that? Still worth going to, right?

People who don't ever go to leeds only ever pick up on the random riots and portaloo tipping and arson sprees.
There was that when I went, but I was camping at the top of the hill sat round a bonfire of jeans quite drunk on vodka and apple juice hanging with a bunch of 15 year old mancunian boys and two people from birmingham i always saw at gigs one of which was only wearing a pair of pink silk hotpants she'd bought at the 50p silk stall and the guy had sacrificed his jeans for the bonfire cause and was wearing a leoard print long sleeved tee and someone was playing it's the end of the world as we know it on their guitar so we were too busy singing along to play much heed to the riots.
It was a good time.
Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something. |

Sounds like you may be better off with Leeds EV, but Reading is better.
