Ugh. My wife watches the show and had it on in the other room when all of a sudden I heard "Debaser." I couldn't believe it. Guess they've really made it now, huh? On The O.C., baby--the heart of the American zeitgeist. Congrats to the Pixies. I hope they cashed a big check!
They also played The Scorpions "Rock You Like a Hurricane" too.

And the Futureheads and Brendon Benson! There's not much left to justify continuing to watch this show, so I need this...

some people in costume and sound must be pretty cool. they probably feel like they are making the best of a bad situation by inserting some cool into the show when and where ever they can.

I was watching some show (I think it was "the Soup")And they were making fun of the OC for shamelessly plugging all things trendy at any given moment. Not that the Pixies are trendy, but they certainly are alot more "in" these days to people who never heard of them until now.

Well i guess i am in the minority here. I gotta say, I love The OC. I am an OC fan. And I was thrilled to hear Debaser. I rank it right up there w/ Seinfeld and The Office as my favorite shows alltime. The Office is pure brilliance. Has anyone seen the States version of The Office? I thought it was supposed to debut last night but am not sure. the mods are probably getting pissed b/c i am off the subject. sorry. i love debaser.

I love the office! I heard about it, and ended up buying the first season on DVD just so I could watch it.

I still chuckle whenever I think about a stapler in Jell-O

The American version of the Office looks brutal. Steve Carrell is funny, but it seems like such a watered down, dumbed down version of the brilliance that was D. Brent and Co. (from the clips I've seen), I'm really not looking forward to it.

Steve Carrell is fantastic but I don't think he can save that show. I wonder if it will last longer than NBC's Coupling.

I don't think the American version sounds that appealing. I think I will stick to buying the original version on DVD.

This is one of the few times that having a TV would be
good.

You don't have a TV? That is awesome. My husband and I are thinking about unplugging the TV for a week as an experiment to see how much more we could get done.

How long you been TV-free?

If you don't get anything done WITH a TV, I doubt you'll get much more done WITHOUT one. It isn't like a TV set causes laziness.

i think the OC is a great show - me and my wife watch it religously!
it's just so goddam good.
apparently the creator/producer of the show is a big indie/alternative music fan and uses said music to extend it's audience to people who normally wouldn't ever hear it.
gotta be good.

Sorry to go off topic here. I had to think for some time, mosleyk, to
figure out how long we've gone without TV. Ten years, I think?
Even when we had it, we watched very little. Literally one show
a week (ER). There is nothing weirder than seeing a TV
commercial for the first time in three or four years. It's totally
bizarre...and insulting.

Never watched the OC... but I think it's cool that the Pixies were on there. It keeps the younger generation interested, and even maybe exposed to the fist time to the best band ever.... it's just like spreading the word to the 20 and under crowd. :)

Now if we could only get them on 24. :)

Crap. Now they're going to wind up on one of those O.C. "mix CDs" (aka a soundtrack) for my sister and her millions of ilk to consume.

I'll admit that I watch the OC too. One of life's guilty pleasures I guess. It's nice to see what a real American household is like ;)

They do play good music on the show, have to give them credit for that.

it's ok for people to like the OC. i bet half the people that claim they don't like it have probably never seen an episode. they just feel that the show is somehow an assault on their individual/non-mainstream/elitist/indie personality. that's crap.

Marisa is hot. not saying the show is award-winning, but it is entertaining. take it for what its worth. now, if we are talking The Bachelorette.....then yeah, that's a bunch of garbage.

At my high-school there is an "Elite O.C. Circle."

No shit - they even made their own shirts that they wear on whatever day the show is on. Apparently, from the announcements, you have to sign-up and then have an "interview" of sorts to see if you know enough about the show to join. I really hope that the Pixies don't wind up on an O.C. soundtrack.

Fucking tools.

KIKI is the nickname for Seth's mom/Sandy's wife. Caleb, her dad, calls her that.

Did anyone see NBCs version of The Office last night?? the guy who is supposed to mirror the BBCs "Garuth" is terrible. overall, i didn't think it was that bad all things considered.

A very amusing and accurate summation of the O.C. 'situation'.

Gosh darn you haters. I love the OC, its so tacky it's awesome. I think my little brother literally wants to be Seth Cohen.

Interesting point about the show: the band wrote the theme tune, sing the theme tune...

If you find this funny you are very, very cool
