Kathryn, do not check the flights to Lisbon but check the ones to Oporto, that's near here, so I could wait you at the airport.
That's not insane at all Kiki.
I have sympaty for Tre, no I didn't meant that...in fact I love Tre, and I want to give her a hug right now.

It's Sunday morning and I am not in the mood for floop.
Does that make me a bad person? Does that mean
I don't like floop? Indeed, I do like floop.

I still don't know what flank is. But I know what Frank is.
So I'm doing OK.

Daisy, I'm sorry. And on your special b-day/2000th post day. Yuck.

I don't want to go to those people's house and talk to them or see them. I don't want to do anything but sit around in my PJs.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've lounged
around the house all alone in the last three years. Fuck those people.

Bugger - I can count on one hand the number of times I've lounged around the house all alone in the past week - wanna swap Kathryn?

I can't wait to go to bed tonight - clean linen and new pillows

"No"
But, obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of this case and therefore its pretty harsh of me to judge. If it was genuinely unfair, then of course you have every right to be upset, and also every right to take it to a higher level and make a formal complaint.
In fact, my old boss is now head of Academic Administration at Tre's uni, so take it up with her!

I don't think its a matter of whether Tre is right or wrong or whether she was asking for it or not, its a matter of empathy. Someone here is going through a difficult time, simple as that.

There's a difference between sympathy and empathy - but, more importantly, Tre has agreed to wear short skirts and bat her eyelids, and all is made up. I think points were missed/expressed badly, mostly my fault.

Or floop's.

Students cheat at incredible rates. Seems like around 80% of the times that I read a paper and it seems a little strange, a google search will pop out much the text of the paper. They just do searches and then paste them together. Lazy bastards.

But Tre's case is that she thought the office for accepting papers was open to a particular time and it was. But, then they had a rule that they wouldn't accept papers until after that time. Unless that was clear in the syllabus or was repeated multiple times in class, that's bullshit in my book. You know when students are trying to pull one on you. They aren't good liars usually. And you deal with them accordingly. But, you still treat people like people and not hide behind supposedly hard rules.

I feel strongly the other way. I as a student would almost never argue for points and I think its lame when instructors just cave and give points to students just to get them to go away. Why should obnoxious students benefit, while the quiet students that play by the rules take the lumps?

Yep, I pretty much agree with everything you say darwin. I have discussed the 'ins and outs' of the situation with Tre, and she now officially has my sympathy. It sounds like she was very unfairly treated, and has every right to appeal and complain. My own attitude towards it began by wondering if there was any point feigning sympathy for someone just to make them feel better, I'm not sure that's any help to anyone - I'm glad to be proved wrong, of course, but also sad for Tre.

You're so right about students though - I deal with applicants more than enrolled students, but the number we get trying to scam their way into university is just phenomenal. It's kind of a give away when you ask their date of birth and they don't know...

The Charltons?

Cheeseman, Secret Machines are OK, not bad. THey have a couple of really good songs, but a lot fo the others go on a bit too long and are a bit aimless. They have been described as prog-rock, though I really don't know about that.
