Thanks to Superabounder, Carl, and LBF. For my birthday, I got some money, a shirt, a few gift certificates, the Dresden Dolls' self-titled album, the Fastbacks' "Zucker," the book "Lies My Teacher Told Me," the new "Wizard of Oz" DVD set, a Salvador Dali calendar, and a spicecake.

I am sooooo freaking tired.
J used to sleep really well but now for the last month or so he doesn't. He's teething and growing and stuffing him full of pablum doesn't seem to help him sleep. I'm averaging 4 hours a night of completely broken sleep. My immune system is totally down for the count and I'm working on my second cold in a month now. I can't sleep during the day because J sleeps in 20 minute stints. My mom is completely useless to help me out. I wouldn't want her help except for the fact that she tells everyone how much of a help she is to me by coming over once a week. When she does I end up driving her to the chiropractor because she doesn't know how to get there herself and her big help is to hold the baby while I make her lunch and/or dinner, while she tells me extremely personal stories about her and her boyfriend which make me want to puke because somehow she thinks I'm her friend and not her daughter. Today I called her to beg her to help tend to baby so I could get a couple hours rest because I have a fever and she said no because she's a bit tired and her boyfriend has the day off. I almost want to cry, almost. Good thing J is so freaking bloody cute. I also don't have anything to talk about lately except family and kids. I prolly bore the pants off people.

I was just reading through the latest posts and it occurred to me that it may well be some forum member's birthday. So, I'd just like to say "Happy birthday!", if it is, in fact, anybody's birthday.
