I'll tell you what I've done. I've only gone and bought two singles and an album. DOH! At least the two singles are off the other album, so it will give me a taster of it. I wondered why they were so cheap (£1 and £1.49). This is what happens when you get excited by the fact that you have a new job, money to spend and cheap CD's on offer.
By the way, the album I got is Every Six Seconds (£2.50) and the singles were Oily Rag and Lovely Skin. |

Dear Mike
Happy birthday! Congrats on the new job. Congrats on the big forum love you're getting in your very own b-day thread.
We on the forum have pooled our money and bought you a nice ride so you can get to work and back. You can hop on in as soon as Miss Jenna Jameson gets done washing it.
Happy birthday, Homers! xoxo Kiki

Ah well, you'll be OK with that. I think Every Six Seconds just about tips it as my favourite, but Half Nelson (their other, and first, album) is just as good really. You'll like Oily Rag, I think, thats an awesome song.

Right I'll go get Ashley myself then and post her in the beautiful women thread.
EDIT: Actually, due the constraints this website places on picture posting, I won't be able to do that. |

i'm glad to see another using this fine, and sadly overlooked vernacular.
do you ever sometimes add, for flavor: "well shoot a pickle....for a nickle"?
i do

No, I've actually never had a pet. But dogs are friendlier than cats-cats love comfort, but will happily fend for themselves out in the wild. Maybe dogs just ain't as smart..? |

Dogs are smarter than cats
cats have nine lives/ which makes them ideal for experimentation |

Actually, I always thought cats seemed like quite intelligent creatures, and they have a similar brain-structure to humans(..or something like that!!). But I just remember hearing somewhere that they're apparently they're not that intelligent. So I'm totally contradicting myself. |

I remember reading somewhere that dogs were smarter than cats because they were better at cooperating and communicating. I'm not sure I believe it, though.

Thanks a lot guys, you are all true internet buddies (which makes you almost as important as my real buddies, the amount of time I spend on here).
Now the celebrations can truly begin. I have a four day drinking bender to begin now. It starts slowly today at my friend's flat, then onto the main birthday celebrations around the city tomorrow, taking in a trip to my favourite Manchester bar (complete with great jukebox, as Surfer will testify, lot's of Pixies), and then to watch my beloved Manchester United kick Cheeseman's pathetic team's ass (I am really setting myself up for a fall here). Then onto my favourite club (which sadly is a Bravery album launch night but it's still worth it for the rest of the songs they play - again lots for Pixies). Sunday is The Raveonettes and Monday is Le Tigre. Gigtastic!
Then Wednesday I re-enter the land of the working. |

wow! I'm jealous! I totally dig the raveonettes...that heavy fuzz is awesome! Le Tigre I'm just starting to get in to...my fave of theirs so far is "WE like the boys with the cars that go boom"...is that at all indicative of their broader sound?
enjoy the gigs, HPM! |
