In a collective push to get our song db as chock full of information as possible, we're going to experiment with posting a new song every couple days to the forum.
This is where you come in. If you know anything about the song (or are interested in trying to find out through some skilled sleuthing) then the idea is that you post your knowledge (with source if possible).
If it's conjecture, that's great too (just please label it as such), because it'll help get people talking.
El Barto, the Song DB Master, will then take what elements he can from the thread and put them into the db. It should be full of tidbits in no time!
What sort of information are we looking for? Anything that gives insight into the song's meaning, creation, etc for one. As well, interesting nuggets of information.
Examples:
Descriptions of (possible) song references
Quotes from FB or other notables on the song
Definitions to words you think might not be immediately obvious

Well, here's a place to start... what is this song about? Leaving Jean/his favourite kiss? What's the significance of

Fabled twist?
It sounds like a touring song at first glance, but maybe touring is part of the reason that "he'll be gone"?

I think the fabled twist is more of an expectation of things going wrong in reference to the divorce, that the marriage seemed great (because he said himself they never fell out of love) but the differing opinions on children was the twist in the tale, that the wanting is there i.e., the love never stopped, but nothing left to go on i.e. it's too big a difference to make things work
I think the whole song is about a goodbye kiss, the end of the marriage, one last kiss before he's gone forever...
thats my take (which is both obvious and probably wildly wrong)

I haven't a clue so I won't guess.

In a last attempt to drum up some stuff here I'll post some favourable and not so favourable review pulls for you to disagree/agree with...

I had hoped that Black would provide some rays of hope, or in lieu of some more upbeat vibes, some creative and original sounds. Instead, I was greeted with sounds from the past, such as the Allman Brothers inspired steel guitar on "My Favourite Kiss." I always thought this was frank's homage (were he to do one) to Willie Nelson, just 'cause the guitars sound similar, and one I could hear them playing together, I guess.
I like the song as a simple love song about missing his girl while out on the long lonely cold road touring but...could FB be referring to time travel? "the fabled twist"???
