I was over at my brother's house last night eating Chinese take-out and after dinner we were discussing some of our favourite movies. He began to explain that he had read a European movie magazine that talked about some of the most disturbing movie moments.
One of the moments was when a boy, who was told by his mother never to go outside smothered and killed his cat. Just because his mother didn't want him to go outside of the house - explaining that the oxygen outside is dangerous and that cats do not need oxygen.
I have searched the net for several keywords and it seems that I cannot find anything. Does anyone here know the title of the movie I'm talking about? I would love to watch it (it sounds different, which is what you don't see a lot of now in movies) so it grabs my interest. |

i don't think i've heard of that one. sorry.
if you want to see a "different" movie involving a dead cat though, i can recommend RUBIN AND ED with Crispen Glover. that's different. the whole movie is him looking for a place to bury his cat.

The Crispen Glover appreciation thread; coming soon to a forum near you. (Actually, my friend dated him and, shockingly, confirmed that he was something of an oddball, to quote Frank.)

To me, Dave Letterman has always seemed like a dick-head. Personally I think he deserves to be kicked in the face. Like, sometimes his sense of humor can be rude.
That said - I still love the guy and I watch his show whenever I have the time. But not as much as Conan O'brien, I would let Conan have his way with me if he wanted. |

I watched that live and did not have the benefit of being able to rewind the tape to doublecheck that my eyes weren't fooling me. It was weird. Did you see it, floop?

ADDAA - AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT AID ASSOCIATION, also thank you for the link Floop.
The entier discussion about support groups reminds me of Fight Club. If you ever read any other Chuck Palhinuk books they also follow a lot of support groups. Like sexaholics anonymous and stuff. |

SHARKEY! YOU ARE CORRECT! DING DING DING!
My brother said the movie was something like "Bobby Bub Boy" or something, so that sounds farmiliar. I would give you a purely hetrosexual hug to show my compasion, instead however let me give you this picture that I made last night...
If you watch Dave as much as I do, you begin to understand that he treats some people rudely. Like he's more important then them, you will notice this with specific celebrities, you would think he's joking around - but he's not.
Also when he talks with people from the audience some times he isn't really kind, and it is funny, but it's not really "laugh with me" kind of funny, it's more "laugh at me" kind of funny.
I think you know what I'm talking about though, one thing is clear however - I hate Jay Leno. |

hehe, this reminds me of an episode of mike bullard when he was talking with the audience and one guy kept blurting something out while mike was talking and mike says "what, your friend can't speak?, you have to do all the talking?", then the guy says something else incomprehensible and mike says "oh, i get it, he's your attendant" then the camera zoomed in on the subject and the guy was indeed a handicapped fellow with his aide, nobody really laughed and mike kinda shut up but didn't apologize...it was one of those, did that really happen moments.

i was really stoned when i saw it, i'd been to this terrible club called bubble the night before with a bunch of people i worked with and got very very vodka drunk, then we all piled back to this girls house, smoked and watched this film, for some reason the 'bubby in the band' scene cracked me up, laughed so hard i fell over.
back in the days i could smoke, aah those were the days :(
I think you're right with the aussie thing..

Dosn't he wrap his mother in cellophane as well? If you want to watch another depressing and disturbing film Elephant, have a look at The Idiots. Watched it last night, shit, I've depressed myself now just mentioning it.
'it seems,' I said, looking up at the sun, 'when a man dreams, a white butterfly does be after coming out of his mouth and walking away; and when it comes back again, it is then he awakes.' |

i watch dave more than you do, trust me. you said you were 15, right? so all of this "dave's an asshole" stuff is purely hearsay on your part, unless you've been checking out reruns of the old nbc show. dave is too easy now, too nice, too middle of the road. give me one example of dave being rude to a guest in the last five years. the thing with crispen glover happened before you were born.
one of the things i used to love about him was that if some idiot model would come out with a ridiculous hairdo, dave would have the balls to ask "what the hell is going on with your hair?" it's not his job to suck up to vapid actors with egos bigger than the state of california (though he does do it frequently nowadays, much to my dismay).
I love my dead gay son! |
