Right, im gonna see if this gets any response, which i doubt very much...
Basically there was aband called CarterUSM in the nineties, and they eventually got dropped by their label in favour of Robbie Williams...the problem is that there are a number of tv appearences, concerts and much more which carter fans can now not get a hold of. The label havent offered to bring them back in to production, even though there is a real demand for it.
The members of carter have supported this and have offered to add commentry and sleeve notes etc...
SO what we are doing is trying to get over 2,500 signatures, and we will personally take this to EMI, and are trying to get some press coverage of all this as well. Mansun did a similar thing, and got a dvd out of thm with 2000 signatures, so we think if theres 2 500, we have more of a chance. The link is in my signature.
This will be collated with others’ statements and petition lists (that will be available at forthcoming Jim Bob and Abdou gigs). Once we have as many signatures as possible (hopefully by summer 2005), they will be delivered to EMI (on a date that will be announced on the Carter/Jim/Abdou forum; http://www.abdou.co.uk/forum).
We are very grateful for any support you can give this venture!
Below is the message which we are sending EMI
The EMI group own the rights to the majority of the Carter USM back catalogue. At the present time, VHS tapes released by Chrysalis/PMI (your subsidiaries) are no longer commercially available (ie. 'In Bed With Carter', 'What Do You Think Of The Programme So Far?', 'Flickin' The Vs' and 'Straw Donkey').
We, the undersigned, would like to see this situation rectified as soon as possible by the release of a definitive Carter USM DVD. We believe that the DVD should comprise these four releases in addition to Carter USM's numerous TV appearances on shows such as 'Top Of The Pops', 'The O Zone', 'Pop Quiz', 'MTV', 'Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party' and 'What's Up Doc'. The total running time would be longer than 330 minutes, making a double DVD set a more than plausible venture.
We feel it to be a shocking state of affairs that no DVD material exists of one of Britain's best bands of the nineties; a band that still has a sizeable worldwide fanbase.
We have it on good authority that band members, Jim Bob and Fruitbat, would support such a release and would provide commentary, sleeve notes etc. which, when combined with TV appearance footage, would make a DVD far more than a mere rehash of existing material.
We therefore ask you to bring out a DVD of this nature forthwith, benefitting not only the band's enthusiastic fanbase but also your profits. We would like you to liase with both fans and bands with regard to the final content creating a product everybody is happy with.
Even if you dont know who Carter USM are, or even if you didnt like them, or feel indifferent about them, just imagine for a second that your favourite band had a load of visual stuff on tape that you coldnt get a hold of, becuase their EX record label wouldnt let you. Imagine how you would feel.
Please support the carter fans in this plight, by just downloading and signing this. it wont take long, but it will mean the world to us.

they have some pretty fun stuff, check out lean on me (i won't fall over), billy's smart circus, they do great covers of the sugarcubes hit, and the smiths panic. i had do re mi, so far so good as my sig for a while.

I love their cover of Panic.
look out for glam rock cops too. Great song.
In fact maybe you wont have to wait too long for some carter for your ears to relish in. I love 5th Novemember too. Great song.
