Did you ever go see or go rent a film because of one song you knew was on the soundtrack? Were you disappointed?

I've two personal examples...

1. "season song" by the Blue States. on the soundtrack of "28 Days Later" I have the dvd--and have had the dvd for about 6 mos. from a pal of mine at work. I LOVE love love the song but every time i put the movie in, I just stop it and take it out...just haven't been in the mood for that kind of film. is it worth it? i like naomi whatever her name is--from the tomorrow people--but, well, let me know...

2. "mad world" by gary jules. the cover of the Tears for Fears song...on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. I've heard lotsa good/lotsa bad about the film. I like the song but don't really want to taint the song with a crapfest of a film, you know?

What abt. you gals and guys?

i don't think i've ever seen a film because a song was on the soundtrack. but i've been wanting to see the elusive french film ALBERT SOUFFRE for a long time, only because i've heard it's all Pixies songs in the film

Empire Records, for the Martinis song. That film made me puke in my mouth a little and then swollew it! I hate that film!!!!!!!, but my brother bought me the soundtrack just for that song, I can't find any Martinis albums in Dublin, I have to own one!

I saw United States of Leland only because of the soundtrack, but in the end I liked it.
